Local Charges and Tipping
In some accommodation certain amenities may carry a local charge. Where possible, these are shown on the individual accommodation pages. Read more on what you can expect to pay for locally, but always check as there may be others.

Local Charges
You can expect to have to pay for:
- Daily car parking at some hotels/apartments
- Entertainment and activities away from your accommodation
- Highchairs, cots, babysitting services, non-Thomas Cook Children's Clubs and meals for
infants
- Meals and beverages from certain restaurants and bars at your accommodation
- Certain premium drink brands and certain eateries and bars at your all-inclusive hotels
- Safety deposit boxes, room service, mini bar, TV/Satellite TV, telephone calls, air
conditioning and sea views
- Facilities and equipment such as sun loungers, jacuzzi, sauna, table tennis, billiards and
darts
Bulgaria
There is a dual pricing system where tourists are charged more for the same things than Bulgarian and foreign residents.
Egypt
In Egypt, it is expected and standard practice
to tip. Keep plenty of small notes for tipping purposes - it is best to tip little but often.
You are expected to tip waiters, porters, barmen, coach drivers, taxi drivers - a general rule
to follow is tip anyone who offers you any type of assistance or service.
There is also a local charge for the use of cameras and video cameras at some of the sites.
Jamaica
Most hotels have a service charge of 10-15%. The same amount, although not added to most bills , is generally accepted at restaurants as a tip.
Mexico
It is customary to tip 15% in restaurants, since a service charge is not usually added.
