In addition to the beaches, there is plenty to do in Marmaris. Marmaris Bay is a busy port and has three lively marinas with 1100 boats capacity. They host the International Yacht Festival and International Marmaris Yacht Race, when the city is particularly busy. You can also visit Marmaris Castle, once besieged by Alexander the Great. The Dalyan Mud Baths are great fun and make a very good day trip from Marmaris. The mineral rich muds and therapeutic springs leave you feeling revitalised and refreshed, and prepare you for a seriously deep tan. The trips there often include the Lycian rock tombs. Another excursion well-worth doing is the trip to Ataturk Park. This park is a protected area. A seaside forest of Oriental Sweetgum trees, it is a great place to escape the heat for a quiet afternoon's picnic.

The city has a bubbling nightlife that is great for group holidays. With a mix of authentic Turkish bars and international drinking pubs, late-night discos, karaoke bars and elaborate Turkish dancing shows, you will be able to have a good night out with your friends.
