Visit Giza to admire the three great Fourth-Dynasty Pyramids, the Sphinx and the Egyptian Museum. Artefacts in the museum include the 3,000-year-old treasure of Tutankhamun, as well as an array of Pharaonic, Islamic and Byzantine art and sculptures.

Cairo is also home to the Al Azhar, one of the oldest universities in the world and to the Amr Ibn El Aas Mosque - the first mosque to be built in Egypt. You can also visit the Virgin’s Tree, under which it is said the Holy Family sheltered during their flight from Herod’s persecution.

Some 670 kilometres to the south of Cairo is Thebes, now known as Luxor. A living museum, Luxor boasts some of the most spectacular examples of Pharaonic architecture, including the Temple of Luxor and the great Temple of Karnak.

Visit Sheraton Street for the lively coffee houses located here. The newly opened Hurghada Marina Boulevard is a great place to find a restaurant or bar and eat and drink the night away.

For a good selection of nightlife, Marsa Alam will feature a selection of bars, nightclubs and a casino.
