Summer holidays Rhodes

Rhodes Island is world-renowned for its beaches. With the best sunshine record of all the Greek islands, the outstanding ancient historical sites and the world-famous resorts as Faliraki, have made Rhodes one of the top summer holidays destinations in the Mediterranean. The mountainous interior of Rhodes is covered with lush green pine forests and fertile valleys, so the island is also great for exploring beautiful countryside.

Elli Beach is the most popular beach in Rhodes. Sheltered from the wind, it has a diving platform as well as sunbeds, parasols and refreshment facilities. The breezy Akti Kanari Beach to the west is quieter and more suitable for activities and water sports. And as far as water sports are concerned the amenities on the island are second to none with everything from calm pedalo rides to wild kite surfing. At Kallithea Spa – south of Rhodes Town, you will find excellent swimming, snorkelling and scuba diving. Conditions for windsurfing on Rhodes, especially in the west of the island, are among the best in the world.

Rhodes Town comes to life at night. Orfanidou is the official ‘Bar Street’, with a disco/bar for almost every holidaying nation, and Diakou isn’t far behind.
