Summer holidays Portugal

Portugal, at the western edge of Europe, enjoys some of the best resorts, soft, sandy beaches and alluring landscapes, all within relatively close proximity. The skies are clear, the people are sunny and friendly, and the rugged landscape is just waiting to be explored. Along the coast, mature, well established resorts bristle with excellent hotels and apartments. No wonder that summer holidays in Portugal are all about relaxing and enjoying your freetime at your own pace.

If it's an activity holiday you're looking for, Portugal is one of Europe's premier golfing destinations and the tennis schools are second-to-none. It is a prime spot for countryside and mountainous horseback riding or biking. You could hire a quad bike or car to explore inland, or take to the seas in a yacht or speedboat. There is an abundance of watersports available at the beaches - surfing, windsurfing, snorkelling, diving, canoeing, kayaking and scuba diving.

Holidays in Portugal offer scintillating and colourful nightlife. Don't miss listening to the local Fado folk music in one of the traditional tavernas. In the summer, you'll come across numerous country fairs, where old folk traditions are lovingly re-enacted and local wares are sold.

Portual summer holidays offer great value, fabulous beaches and a climate that's hard to beat.
