Summer holidays Dominican Republic

Columbus, spotting the island for the first time on his voyage to the New World, declared there can’t be a more beautiful island in the world and the good news is that much of what he saw remains as it did over 500 years ago. Visit the sweeping valleys and lofty mountains, cloaked in deep green, and its silvery white beaches with a very cheap summer holiday.

Along both the north and south coasts, hotels and holiday villages claim their slices of sand, each offering the requisite array of watersports, relaxing beach bars and Dominican Republic hospitality. While on holiday here, why not give white-water rafting a go? Imagine surging along a swollen river, where your skill and strength put you in control of your own destiny. Each raft is crewed by seven people, the most important being the helmsman at the back who will make sure you have a great time.

Visit Cayo Leventado, or ‘Bacardi Island’, situated in the Bay of Samaná. The island has become famous after it was used as a location on an advert as an island paradise and possesses two of the Dominican Republic’s loveliest beaches. Go to Luperon & Bahia Maimon and Cofresi and enjoy their bars, entertainment and gorgeous beaches.
