Self catering holidays Orlando

There are many things you can try on your self-catering holiday to Orlando, not just the different restaurants and bars. Apart from the major attractions along International Drive, Orlando can offer many other exciting and memorable things to do. For instance, there are the Airboat Rides at Boggy Creek. On this trip, an airboat ride takes you along the outskirts of the Florida Everglades, where you’ll skim above the water at 73 kph (45 mph). Around you, you’ll be able to see wild alligators and other wildlife up close. These 30-minute tours are held throughout the day and evening, so you can go whenever you feel like it. Experience indoor skydiving – even though it may sound strange, it is a very exciting thing to do. While you’re never more than about 3m (10ft) off the ground, you’ll glide on a column of air created by a jet engine. The sensation is identical to skydiving, only without the danger.

If you feel like some calmer experiences in Orlando, why not try the Harry P Leu Gardens. These botanical gardens offer a stunning array of flowers, plants and trees that change throughout the year and occasionally, there are live concerts held in the gardens.

There are plenty of great places you can check out in the evening. One is the Pirate’s Dinner Adventure, which is great for kids and teens in particular because of its light-hearted, pirate-themed dinner shows. Another is more for the grown ups and is called the Ice Bar and, as you can probably guess from its name, everything in it is made from solid ice.
