Self catering holidays Balearic Islands

With stunning scenery, blissful beaches, captivating resorts and sumptuous food, the Balearic Islands are a fantastic holiday destination and a great place for a self-catering trip.

There are some beautiful beaches in the Balearics. After a long day on the beach, you have the flexibility to choose whether to relax and cook at home, or sample some of the local cuisines. Visit the markets, shop alongside the locals and prepare your own meals with fresh, locally sourced produce, or treat yourself to dinner out one evening.

The Balearic Islands are famous for their vegetable sobrasada and local wines, as well as other traditional Spanish cuisines, such as paella, chorizo and tapas. The locals like to eat late, and a lot of restaurants don’t even open until 1:30pm at lunchtime and 8:30pm in the evening.

The locals are sociable and friendly; in even the quietest Balearics holiday resort you can spend the evening sitting outside a café or bar, sipping a drink and chatting until the early hours. If you want to get acquainted with some of the local traditions you should see the festivals. Every town and village celebrates its saint’s day - usually with processions, fireworks, music and feasts.
