A self-catering holiday to Gran Canaria means you can discover this amazing island at your own pace with the freedom to cook at home or dine out.
There are countless things to do on a self-catering holiday in Gran Canaria. Tafira Baja and Tafira Alta at the centre of the island offer colonial style architecture, country houses and wonderful botanic gardens, giving visitors the chance to explore the rich variety of plant life. Or San Mateo's diverting Museo Etnológico La Cantonera features a 300-year-old farmhouse which has been transformed into a museum. The museum documents the history of the island and has a great restaurant attached.
The biggest attraction of Gáldar, along the coast, is El Museo y Parque Arquelógico Cueva Pintada (Painted Cave Museum and Archaelogical Park), while beach lovers will adore the beautiful nearby cove at Sardina del Norte (and, yes, the sardines are great here too).
On the road to Artenara, you'll find the Caldera de Los Pinos de Gáldar, a huge volcanic crater. The lush valleys of Barranco de Agaete are full of banana, mango, papaya, and other subtropical plants. The village of Agaete is also home to many artists who sell their works in local galleries.

Agua de Bueyes
Agua de Bueyes is one of several villages that form Antigua, a province in Fuerteventura. Set across a flat landscape with lava fields and salt pits, there are both interesting museums and beautiful beaches in the province.
Argana
A sunny town in the province of Arrecife in Lanzarote, Argana is within easy reach of the airport and the Costa Teguise.
Arona
An attractive zone in the southern tip of Tenerife, the area of Arona encompasses holiday hotspots Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas.
Atogo
Atogo, found on the southern tip of the island, is part of Santa Cruz province of Tenerife. It is located next to the airport.
Corralejo
Once a sleepy fishing village, Corralejo has developed over the years to become the largest resort on Fuerteventura, with a range of facilities to match.
El Abrigo
This tranquil town on the coast of Tenerife is picturesque and quiet. It has a beautiful harbour and the local restaurants serve delicious sea food.
