Self catering holidays Spain

Spain has a fantastic combination of beautiful beaches, famous resorts, comfortable accommodation and lively towns making it an ideal destination for a self-catering holiday.

With over 5000 miles of coastline, Spain is world-famous for its beaches. Whether you chose to visit the mainland - Costa Dorada, Costa Blanca, Almeria or Costa del Sol – or one of the islands - the Balearics or the Canary Islands – you will be able to spend long, lazy days relaxing on some stunning beaches.

With a large variety of water sports available at most beaches, and some fantastic excursions and activities, there is plenty to keep you active all day so that you can relax in the evening. You can shop with the locals in the markets, buying fresh produce and locally sourced meat and fish to prepare for dinner at home one evening, or go out to town and sample some Spanish specialties.

Spanish cuisine is rich in seafood and cured meats, such as chorizo and Serrano hams. Paella is one of the most common dishes, as is cocido. If in Menorca, try tapas Sa Taverna d’Es Port, in Mao Harbour, a down-to-earth tapas bar with a wide selection of meatballs, seafood and salads. Similarly, “El Gomero” in Playa de las Américas (Tenerife) is a well-known haunt for tapas and good Canarian dishes in a pleasant, simple atmosphere.
