Cheap holidays Marmaris

For most people, travelling on a budget means that you have to cut down on some of life’s pleasures, but this doesn’t have to be the case with a Marmaris cheap holiday.

Marmaris is a lively resort and there is always something going on day or night. There are good beaches at I˙cmeler and Turunc that can be reached on a day trip, but for something close-by, head west to the Uzunyalı strip for a beach with good watersports and rides, plus hundreds of inexpensive bars and restaurants.

A tiny Ottoman castle, built in the late 16th century offers great views of the old town and the bay beyond. The castle has a museum with a splendid collection of old Ottoman and naval artefacts, but children will probably be more interested in the wild tortoises and peacocks that roam the flower-filled courtyard gardens.

Another must-see is Kaleici (the old town), which is like a tiny pearl at the heart of Marmaris. With its narrow alleyways flanked by tiny, whitewashed cottages, it is a relaxing place from which you can browse the cheap souvenir shops, art galleries and see traditional family homes.

In the evening you will be pleasantly surprised to find that Marmaris has a great selection of bars, restaurants, and clubs in Lycia, so when you decide to have a night out at the clubs or just a quiet drink, you will be sure to find the perfect place to suit your mood and your budget.
