Beach holidays Turkey

With beautiful sandy beaches, crystal-clear seas and a huge variety of activities and sights, Turkey is the ideal destination for a beach holiday. The welcoming people and laid-back pace of life will make it easy to relax and unwind.

Some of the best beaches in the country are found just east of the Lycian region. Marmaris and Hisaronu have some fantastic sandy stretches and are ideal for the fun-loving crowd looking for a lively resort. In Marmaris, the Uzunyalı strip has a fantastic selection of water sports and rides, as well as restaurants and bars.

There are some good beaches in the Mediterranean part of Turkey as well. In Alanya West Beach is particularly lively. It is lined by a thin ribbon of hotels, restaurants and bars stretching into the distance and offers a wide range of water sports. Konyaaltı is a long, wide bay that is the centre of Antalya’s expanding ‘hotel district’. The whole section is divided into 12 pebble beaches, with their own cafés and a range of activities that include beach volleyball and soccer.

Çeşme’s ‘Golden Beach’ and Altınkum Beach are long, unspoilt bays of golden sand. They rival Ilıca as the best beaches in the northern Aegean. Similarly, Side has some beautiful beaches, as well as some interesting historical sites and a bubbly nightlife.
