Family holidays Icmeler

Icmeler sits in one of the most picturesque bays on the Bozburun peninsula to the west of Marmaris. It boasts a sheltered golden beach shaded by palm trees, backed by forested hills and looking out on numerous offshore islands. The clean waters shelve gently, making the beach great for children – and the beach is proud of its Blue Flag status, making family holidays here full of happy, beach-side memories.

Water sports are available and snorkelling is popular, especially around the rockier sections of the coast where the water is sparkling and clear. One of the most energetic and exhilarating activities on Icmeler family holidays you can find, along with the special Kids world sections in some of the hotels, is white-water rafting on the Dalaman River. There is enough white water here to get your adrenalin rushing, but plenty of quiet spells in between giving you time to catch your breath and take in the wonderful views. The large rafts can carry about 15 people, so they are perfect for family holidays with older children.

Icmeler is great for sightseeing. There are many boat trips operating from the resort - depending on your choices, you can sample local tourist spots such as the mud baths and thermal pools (recommended), the turtle beach, Dalyan Delta and the impressive Lycian Rock Tombs carved in the limestone cliffs, and a selection of historic ruins scattered along the coast.
