Family holidays Canary Islands

There are many places to visit and lots to explore on a Canary Islands family holiday, such as the Parque Aqua Lanza (Aqua Park) in Lanzarote. With colourful water slides and flumes, gentle rides for youngsters as well as more thrilling options for teenagers and adults, plus a bouncy castle and a lovely pool and sunbathing area, it makes for a great excursion for the entire family. For a break from all of the fun and games there are cafés plus a gift shop on-site.

In Tenerife, just one of the places to visit is Vivo, located in the centre of Playa de las Americas and brimming with activities. It features a swimming pool, mini-golf, a bouncy castle for the kids, as well as a great restaurant and cabaret bar. It is an excellent venue for all the family, day or night.

In Fuerteventura, you will find one of the best places on the Islands for a family day out. Baku Family Park is a unique family entertainment centre, which includes eight computerised bowling alleys, a billiards table, table football, mini-golf, a driving range and a minipark for children. There is also a bar equipped with snacks and toilet facilities.

Where to go

Isla de Lobos

A beautifully tranquil nature reserve, Isla de Lobos is a short boat trip from Corralejos in Fuerteventura. Serene and peaceful, it is rich with wildlife and well-worth the effort of getting there.

Playa Quemada al crepúsculo

Tenerife

As volcanic outcrops go, Tenerife is more paradise than pumice stone. And, frankly, these days, you're more likely to find the lager flowing than the lava. That's perhaps why so many of us love this perennially sunny land, cast off into the north Atlantic.

Beach at Tenerife

Lanzarote

This dramatic island is home to over 300 volcanoes, 20 miles of beaches and dozens of top quality resorts and hotels. From the lively Puerto del Carmen to the more low-key Costa Teguise Lanzarote is the perfect holiday getaway.

Lanzarote

Gran Canaria

Part of the Spanish Canary Islands, Gran Canaria is a tourist spot which offers sun, sand and Spanish charm all year round .

Gran Canaria

Playa Blanca

An attractive, modern resort, worlds away from some of the less well-thought-out resorts of the past. Not as chock-full of facilities as the larger Lanzarote resorts, but it has all you need for a relaxing week or two, and, most importantly, a smashing beach.

Playa Blanca

Tias

One of the oldest and most important towns on Lanzarote, Tias has a fascinating history with settlements that date back to 1493. Though it overlooks the main resort of Puerto Del Carmen, it is often overlooked by tourists.
