Things to do
Let out your inner child
Florida is the ultimate place to go for rides, thrills and magic, and no visit is complete without spending a couple of days at one of its world-famous theme parks. Big and little kids alike will love meeting their favourite movie characters and delving deep into the magical worlds brought to life in the movies. Whether you choose Walt Disney World resort, Universal Studios, or any one of the various sea-based attractions Orlando has to offer such as Busch gardens and Discovery Cove, you’ll certainly take home memories that will last a lifetime.
24-hour party people
Miami’s pulsating, vibrant downtown area provides enough attractions to keep you occupied from sunrise to sunset during your luxury holiday. Whether it’s cruising in a classic car along Ocean Drive, deep see fishing in the Atlantic Ocean, exploring Little Havana’s bodeguitas, or posing down on the beach - Miami has enough adventure, fun and excitement to keep the party going 24 hours a day.
With such fabulous weather, you just have to get and experience some of the natural attractions that make this area famous. A great way to start is with a parasailing adventure; high above the water you’ll get extraordinary views of Florida’s ten thousand islands in all their glory. Or perhaps opt for a snorkelling trip around the reef of Florida Keys, where you’ll get to see shoals of tropical fish. Back on dry land, why not take a trip out to the Everglades National park to spot some of the unique wildlife and bird species endemic to the region such as crocodiles and grass frogs.
Where to go
With more than 1200 miles of coastline across the state, Florida holidays in the USA offer gorgeous beaches, and some excellent surf and watersports facilities. Orlando is a great base for families, as it’s home to the world’s most famous theme parks, and has great hotel resorts, restaurants and plenty of other family-friendly attractions. Further south, Miami’s bright lights and party vibe make it equally great for adult holidays as well as a family-friendly resort stay. As well as the area’s outstanding natural beauty, you’ll also find excellent resorts, convenient transport connections and first class service - giving it all the ingredients of a 5 star holiday.
Best time to go:
Boasting year round sun and great temperatures between November and March, a holiday to Florida is the perfect place to chase away the winter blues. The ‘Sunshine state’ is also worth considering during the summer months. Although the temperatures hot up and it can be very humid, there are plenty of water-based activities which will keep you cool. Thunderstorms do happen at this time, but they are usually dramatic and short-lived. However, do pack a raincoat or umbrella if you’re travelling at this time, as well as a camera to capture the ever-changing weather in all its glory.
