Best time to visit Zante: Between May and October, with May, June and September enjoying a milder temperature, at an average of 23 (°C).

With up to 13 hours of sunshine a day, July and August is when Zante weather is at its hottest and sunniest. Weather in Zante is known to be fairly wet yet mild during the winter and sunnier during spring months.

Getting Around

By taxi: Zante’s frequent taxi services are an inexpensive and easy way to get around the island. Note that, even though there is no available bus service at the airport, the taxi ranks found right outside are still a low-cost and certainly convenient alternative.

By scooter: If you don’t want to miss a minute of the sunshine, why not hire a scooter and make a round-the-island trip in under a day.


Saint day : Pencil in the end of August, for 3 days (and nights) of eating, drinking and being merry in honour of the island’s patron saint, Saint Dionysius. Lavish celebrations are held in every single corner of the island but Zante Town is known to outdo the rest in extravagance year after year. Follow the crowd to the harbour and join the locals bringing the celebrations to a close with a fantastic fireworks night-show accompanied by the triumphant sounds of the ships’ horns.
