Venice is a city of diversity - although it is primarily known for its gondolas and canals, there is much more to this beautiful city. Enjoy panoramic views across the city from the top of the Campanile di San Marco (Belltower of St. Mark's), visit the wonderfully ornate Doge's Palace, shop until you drop in one of the many designer boutiques on offer or, if relaxing is more your thing, watch the world go by in one of the many cafes and restaurants located on St. Mark's Square. 

Visit the elaborate mosaics and discover the impressive history of the Basilica of St. Mark or, for something a little more understated, the Gothic church of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari houses a fantastic collection of art by Titian and Donatello, amongst others. 

If museums and art galleries don't appeal, the small island of Lido di Venice, located between the sea and the lagoon, is a great place to relax on miles of golden sand. Alternatively, the abundance of quaint bars, cafes and restaurants are fantastic for watching the world go by.
