A 4 star (just about) with more attention to detail, service and staff training.
Orka Sunlife is a good hotel but not great by any stretch of the imagination.
Room..We ordered a "two Roomed" room but instead got a large room with a double bed and a double pull down sofa bed. This was obviously not acceptable for our 16 year old boy to sleep in with his 9 year old sister! I heard others complain about the separate bedroom issues, this is misrepresented as it even says "two Roomed Family Room" on the booking reference.
I had to get reception to place a small fold up bed in the room, it was ROCK Hard!! my little girl had this for two weeks! In my view, for the money paid, everyone should have had a proper bed with the double bed being in a separate bed room.
The food hall is small and gets over run! lack of variety and no terrace space outside to host specialist themes like BBQ or Oriental cooking. You also rarely get asked if you would like a drink with your meal until its too late!!
A Lot of staff work really hard and end up carrying the others who don't care! This is a management issue, which I and others have pointed out to them.
The Thomas Cook rep was never seen, We had a welcome meeting pushed under the door in the Second Week!!! We had to book our own excursions with the hotel staff. we went on two boat trips, a scuba diving day and Para Gliding.
This hotel is called "Ultra Inclusive" No Way! all drinks are local branded unless you pay for them! the mini bar is only re stocked if you pay for it!! even our "free water" wasn't replaced for four days!!
They should have tall fridges around the terraced areas for "self serve" water bottles during the day, this would in turn take the pressure off the pool bar staff to better serve other drinks.
The "manager" walks around in his electric blue trainers and doesn't engage with any guests at all......no wonder he seems unaware of any problems under his nose!
I have been to Turkey eight times in concession and this hotel struggles to be a 4 star compared to others of the same price range.
Overall, a Nice hotel, let down by the number of staff and the standard of some of them (but not all!)
I wont recomend this hotel as it stands now, another thing is, I don't agree with the way tripadvisor is pushed onto you, or the fact that at the moment a Free Week is being offered for the Best three reviews at the end of the season!!! no wonder some people will write a false review.
Finally, a special mention of some Great Staff
Bar Staff.....Mustaffa, Meethan, Haydar, Hassan,Dylal.
Reastaurant.....Hakan, Ali, Eros.
Entertainment..... Ozzie, Krystina, Natalia, Moose.

our best holiday yet!
Wow what an amazing hotel, we arrived at 00.15 and welcomed by reception who were so helpful. They asked if we were hungry and gave us a sandwich and free drinks at the 24hr bar. Our room was something you would get in a hilton hotel with daily cleaners and amazing furnishings.Yes steps are a issue although the lifts were available, they were out of order once during our weeks stay but was advised we could ask reception to take us by car to our room. Anyway wtih the amazing food they provide i was glad of a few steps to run up to burn off some calories!!! Staff are awesome and nothing is too much trouble, Ozzy deserves a mention as he was a lifeguard football coach and entertainer, The waiter in the resturant whos name is Hakan, was a star and always asked if we were ok and always up fo a laugh. The weather was amazing in fact it started at 34 degrees and got to 43 by the end of the week. we met some amazing people out there who became friends and all were on return visits so that tells you something. book a week or more here because i promise you will NOT be disappointed. i could go on and on but unfortunately i have to go and have a look at next years bookings! this is the only place (apart from the maldives) that i would definately be going back to! ENJOY

Amazing relaxing break
We have recently returned from a fantastic 12 days in this hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is to great with a lovely selection each day.
We would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a relaxing time away being pampered by the staff. The hotel is a little out of the way but within easy reach either by walking to the near by shops (approx. 10 mins) or by Dolmus to Olu Deniz (which was really cheap). You can even get taxis straight from the Hotel.
The Blue Lagoon is well worth a visit and we got to see a baby turtle and another couple a fully grown turtle just popped up for air next to their pedalo. Its only 7 Turkish Lira to enter the Blue Lagoon which isn't even £3.
My husband and I were amazed at Turkey, how friendly people are and how clean the resorts are and especially the hotel.
There are steps up to the rooms and that could be a problem if you have mobility issues - but there is a lift which is a little slow but you are on holiday - you shouldn't be in a hurry!
We loved this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to go back!

Mixed bag, got potential for next year
As it is a new hotel of course all the buildings and facilities are in great condition and it was kept very clean all around the place, which was lovely. Only one or two exceptions, such as our room already had paint peeling off the ceiling in the bathroom and a couple of other issues which made us think it had been finished in a bit of a rush but overall comfortable and totally fine for a week. We are both in decent shape and the stairs everywhere even took it out of us, as did the steep walk to and from the hotel to the main road - if you have bad knees wait for the lifts in the hotel and get a cab into town instead of the dolmus!
The spa was great and there is a clean and tidy pool area and a couple of nice bars, though the quality of drinks and service depended on the bartender rather than being a standard all staff have been trained to. Nice touch at the outdoor bar - in the evening they provide fleece blankets when it gets cooler.
Our main issue was the food and dining area - especially the service! The food was OK but not particularly tasty and always overly salty - it was like school canteen food most days that we ate there. The dining area was like a school canteen too, no atmosphere at all and very little or no assistance with seating and drinks for dinner. Staff were totally uncoordinated, seemingly due to inexperience but imagine that they'll have this sorted by summer next year.
That said, we had a nice week here in September 2013, all things considered and would maybe come back for a lazy week in the sun if the price was right.

fantastic family holiday
Me and my family had a great time at Orka sunlife and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of going. Our room was amazing which included a huge bed, with two pull-out sofa beds, a whirl pool bath and a double walk in shower which was lovely. You could also if you like get Wi-fi all over the hotel including by the pool in the lobby and in your room!
The staff where great and very friendly including the entertainment team.
The food was the best and not repetitive ( although i did gain a few pounds when i got home)!
Olu deniz market/strip is not too far away to get a taxi too and is also nice down there at night and in the day at the beach.
Overall this holiday couldnt have been any better and i loved it :) !
