first time in turkey- definetly going back!
Being my first time in turkey, i did have my doubts. on arrival the standard of service was amazing even though we turned up at our hotel at 3am. The hotel was immaculate and it was always the best service! very very friendly hotel as all staff get to know you. Food was VERY cheap! they have their own a la carte restaurant that looks out onto the sunset (beautiful) and we had a 3 course meal from there which included a roast dinner as the main and it came to £8 each but the quality of food was OUTSTANDING! definetly recommend the boat trips the 6 island cruise and the dalyan trip where u get to see turtle beach and experience mud baths. The Orka is situated 10 minutes from the main town of Hisaronu but you still have plenty of shops, bars and restaurants around you! for those that dont like the heat, i wouldnt recommend going in july as it reached 50 degrees whilst we were there! the only downside to the holiday, was that we had to leave! we have brought back with us such perfect memories and it was probably the best way i could have spent my 21st birthday! will definetly recommend to all friends and family and we will definetly be heading out there again very very soon!

We were in the annex a lovely room, the down size was it was a 7 min walk for the restaraunt
The room was very nice we were in the annex of the orka hotel the reception & restaurant was 7 minuet walk uphill away. In the brochure it says the hotel is in hissaronu,, but it's in ovacik, we had our own transfers so it was a bit confusing. It would be nice if there was a snack bar nearer to the complex. The room was spotless and when we managed to get up to the hotel the staff were very helpful. You can get a free bus to the beach, but you are expected to day for sun beds . The weather was perfect, there was plenty of places to eat in ovacik and hissaronu and there's no hassle , the people are very friendly.

Turkey in August - hot hot hot...
This was our first visit to Turkey and we had a really good time and fabulous weather. We enjoyed the hotel, the fabulous breakfast choices, the pools and flume and the friendly staff. We were conveniently placed for occasional excursions but didn't feel the need to venture out every day, other than to sample a good choice of local restaurants.
We had heard in advance that the locals are very fond of children. My 5 year old daughter found the attention, daily kisses and cuddles from the staff a bit overwhelming if the truth is told, but it didn't spoil the holiday, and there are many things worse than friendly staff.
The one thing we didn't enjoy was the sense that Thomas Cook were in league with local businesses and some of the excursions led us like lambs to the slaughter into the arms of various salesmen. We're grown ups and know how much we have to spend but we'd be wary about going on similar trips in future.
Our best trip was on the last day - a river excursion through some of the most beautiful countryside I've ever seen.

loved the holiday, the place was great, the hotel The Orka Village beautiful place, my only complaint would be the annex building, its well out of reach of the rest of the hotel, I had walking difficulties, and a shuttle service was available, some mornings I would have to ring two or three times to be picked up for breakfast, there was nothing in the annex just the rooms and the pool no bar or entertainment unless you made your way up to the main area of the hotel, in the main the annex is clean, well maintained, the rooms are small but ok it would have been nice if a kettle and a small caddy with tea bags, coffee, sugar, and milk sachets was supplied so when you arrive late you at least have a refreshing cuppa.

Wedding Anniversary Turkey
Platinum Villas have the 'wow' factor, however, they are situated at the top of an unmade and unlit road, no heels ladies!! Not much privacy either, everyday you'll see the pool man, maids and gardener! No-one rings the bell, they either climb over the garden wall or just walk into the garden, very annoying!!!
Hisaronu is a neon nightmare! Loud bars, tattoo parlours and just very, very tacky! Olu Deniz is a bit better, disappointed with the standard of food in the restaurants. Ok if you want full English or burgers everyday, we didn't. Will not return to this area again!!

another great holiday in turkey
have visited turkey many times now and hisaronu has it all ,i would say if you are frail on your feet dont stay at thr orka simple as it is at the very top in oveicik as its quite a walk into hisaronu ,the accomodation at the orka is modern and very well kept .Our room was cleaned daily ,beds changed and towels replaced also daily ,we stayed bed and breakfast ,the breakfast was lovely with something for even the fusiest eater .The bbq night is a must for everyone ,excellent entertainment and food ..We did not see the inside of the villas but were told they were excellent well equiped ,we would stay again at the orka but not in the hotel simply because of the noise from the pool bar at night ,we would book a private villa away from the bar ,but overall i cant wait to go back.

girls holiday in turkey
We were returning to this accomodation after last years fab holiday. Not a good idea. Standards had dropped staff less friendly especially the night receptionist (thoroughly rude). We were put in the annex although we were under the impression we had booked 2 rooms in the hotel. The annex wasnt even in the grounds of the hotel and villas so how they can say this is part of the complex beats me. This was a long way away from the restaurant area it was a good job no one in the party had walking difficulties as part of the walk was on a dirt track!
Having said that it was quiet a number of people in the main hotel were complaining of the noise from a nearby hotel and the main bar at the orka.
I wouldnt return to the Orka but would go back to Hisaranu
