2nd tear at the Parkam Ayaz. Just as good as last year. Brilliant location. Front of hotel directly onto bar street and shopping, dining room directly on beach so all amenities near hand. There are three pools to this hotel not two and the Bubble pool is the quieter of the three. Had a brilliant holiday once again.

Great food, great location!
Food was brilliant, lots of variety every night. Great location on beach. Close to main bar strip. Choice of all inclusive alcoholic drinks could have been better but Turkish lager Efes and SOTB cocktails were included. Fight for sunbeds even in late September/early October but plenty on hotels beach. Overall lovely place, friendly staff and good location.

The Ups and Downs of Gumbet
Gumbet could easily be called the Blackpool of Turkey. The main resort area is suited to stags and hens and rowdy gangs of youths and not those wishing for a family or couples holiday. The Hotel Parkim Ayaz does its best to fit in to the area and does have some good qualities such as the friendly staff in the bars and around the pool and the night time entertainment. The hotel is, as we requested, right on the beach but the really good outside staff are let down by the extremely drab and out of date rooms, the horrendous shower room, ours was mouldy, and had green grouting, and the extremely hard matresses. Again the housekeeping staff were excellent and the bed linen and towels were frequently changed but they had an uphill struggle to make the tired and drab rooms look anything other than what they were tired and drab.
The food had some good points there was plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables but the copious quantity of food was at the expense of quality. The evening buffet has plenty of stew type dishes that included cheap cuts of grissley meat, the sauces were good. There was no bacon on the breakfast menu and the sausages were well, not sausages, but bright red and inedible. The continental selection was good. There was again a large selection of desserts but they tended to be tasteless sponge like layers with fake cream, jellies or syrup based desserts.
The location on the beach was really good and the views amazing there is a regular bus service to the really pleasant town of Bodrum with its castle. Don,t take the market trip unless you like fake/ cheap goods and the traders shouting 'better prices than Primark and Matlan' ! There was hardly any authenic Turkish products to buy. I would not go back again and if it was not for the lovely staff, charming rep and weather the holiday would have been an expensive wash out.

3rd visit to Turkey
this was our 3rd visit to Turkey staying at the Parkim Ayaz each time. the hotel is well situated to explore the Bodrum peninsula being a short dolmus ride away from the main bus terminal in Bodrum. the Parkim Ayaz is very good value for money with lovely pools and good food. the staff are friendly and helpful and we will be back next year.
