Don't know, did'nt get to find out!
We booked the starlight family resort approximately ten days before travel, we really liked the idea of the extra facilities at the hotel like horse riding, bowling and ice skating. On arrival in Turkey we were advised that due to some of the facilities not being open Thomas cook had changed our accommodation, needless to say we never actually made it to the starlight resort! On arrival home and after opening my e-mails, I found a letter from Thomas cook which was sent the day we left the uk at 16:40 but we flew at 10:00am , to say that they had actually overbooked the hotel! Not sure about being told different things, and ended up being disappointed with the holiday because we didn't get to do the things we has planned because of the change

enjoyable before the winter break
We have been to the sunrise resort many times but have not been to turkey for four years as we have been going to america, but got an email from the reservation manager of the starlight giving me the web address of the new starlight resport and spa. clicked onto it and was hooked - wanted to go and booked immediately. This resort has everything anybody could want (except early evening entertainment which is the usual turkey not funny sketches} The choice of food of fabulous something for every taste, everything is just beautiful. There was just one complaint - the air conditioning was broken in all the rooms and it did not get fixed while we were there, has to keep the patio door open all night. Saw a complaint on trip advisor where someone said they had just been to this hotel and would not go again as the outdoor pools were freezing cold. What do people expect at the end of October of course the outdoor pools are going to be pretty cool, especially as there was rain the week 11th October and that would make the pools cool. We went in swimming every day and thoroughly enjoyed it - the sea was a few degrees warmer,

we stayed at the starlight conv centre & spa, firstly it is No where near side,it's a 40 min taxi ride away,
on approching the hotel it looks quite grand, the building is impressive,we did book a twin room but was given a double, the bed was a standard double not good when you are 6ft-3in & 17st,I wont say what the size of the wife is but lets just say well built, we asked to get changed for a twin which we did on the third night, we were given a red band to wear, strange as we were under the impression it was a 5 star all inclusive ? this only entitled us to certain drinks,we saw there were different colour bands being yellow, orange red & green, there was a blue band i think but we never saw one
most of the yellow band came from the sister hotel the sunrise resort next door they could use all the facilitys in the starlight (why did I not pay a lower price & stay there & use the starlight all day) would have been a lot cheaper.this hotel is russian owned & was full of them, very arrogant & pushy people,as for the food,it was very very poor,I wish there was a local resturant nearby because we would have gone out to eat I was ill on the way home on the plane, spent 2 hours in the toilet being sick etc & have just after a week got over it, I could go on but I think you get the picture,I do not recomend this hotel to anybody,& I think thomas cook should take this one out of their catalouge

Hotel 5 star then it goes downhill from there
Our 1st impression of the hotel was very good, speedy check in by good friendly reception staff, the rooms were very nice too. Pools and grounds are very nice, being a VIP you have your own VIP pool and bar area .The food and service in the main restaurant is very poor, food is bland not much choice and if you not in before 7.45pm you are then scraping the dreggs out, we mainly had noodles, rice and smiley faces(potato croquettes I mean and not us in general). Never before have I stayed in a 5 star hotel and had to set my own table for tea and go fetch my own drink from the bar. Luckily there were 10 Al a carte restaurants of which we managed to book into 6, which food was better but not excellent.Being a VIP you could book these from reception or room and not have to queue at the hut.Lunchtime at the waterfall restaurant was overtaken by Sunrise guests so it would be 1.30pm before we got a table and it closed at 2pm so the food was nearly cold and picked over. The wristband system is a big joke as it is not kept to at all, the staff seem to turn a blind eye to roaming Sunrise and non VIP starlight guests. If truth be known being a VIP guest doesnt mean very much. The brochure is totally misleading to what you get at the Starlight firstly it doesnt tell you that you will be sharing your holiday with the guests from the 4 star Sunrise (sister hotel), it states that you get daytime activities and evening shows and entertainment they failed to tell you that you have to go to Sunrise for all of this, we did have evening cinema which was in Russian with no sub titles and a cheesy pling pling band that pleased the Russian guests. The night club is not finished/open, the amphitheatre shown in the picture is nowhere to be seen. It says you get some imported drinks, we got Smirnoff vodka anything else imported we had to pay for. We did not let this spoil our holiday but it is at the bottom of the list of our 9 visits to Turkey.

Lovely hotel shame about the food and service
This hotel looks very nice, grounds well kept everywhere spotlessly clean and the rooms very comfortable and spacious. The Turkish staff on the whole friendly and courteous. The Infinity pool is available for use of guests who have Red,Blue or Green wristbands as these are the VIP guests and as we were told by the rep this was the VIP pool but what was not explained was that the comfy sun beds were for use of the blue and green band guests and depending on how many of them were at the hotel was the number of these beds available for the rest of us.The normal sunbeds had a metal frame and it was like a woven material for you to lie on but as the majority of people found if you did not have a sore back you soon would have using these as where the sunbed hindged being as previously stated a metal frame it got you at the base of the spine and we were told by the senior staff that you could not have matresses as it would spoil the decor. I went here to relax not to be tortured ! We went to the Waterfall restaurant for lunch but were unable to get a seat due to the large number of people there from the sister hotel Sunrise.I could go on but suffice to say that this hotel is rated as a 5* but unfortunately it is not, it may be a good 3 or a low 4

Disappointed in Turkey
Myself, my husband and two lads aged 21 and 17 stayed in the Starlight Hotel part of the Sunrise Park complex. When booking this holiday we were lead to believe that the Sunrise Park was just a sister hotel that we had use of its facilities if we chose. In fact, all of the entertainment, activities and some of the ala carte restaurants were at the Sunrise Park and although the brochure said our hotel had "frequent entertainment", in the two weeks we were there, there was none at all. The hotel rooms, lobby, VIP pool and beach all deserve their 5 star billing, but I am afraid that is where it stopped. The all inclusive drinks were very limited in choice. The food in the two main buffet restaurants was not of a high standard. Much of it was casseroled or cooked in oil and left standing for long periods without being replaced and much of the food was left uncovered.. The restaurants were only open for two hours at a time, and if you came to eat in the last half hour you would often find little left to eat as food trays were not replenished. The ala carte restaurants were of a slightly better standard, but the menus were very limited in choice. Some of the Turkish staff were friendly and helpful, but I am afraid none really gave a five star service. Orders for drinks were eventually taken after waiting a long time and then often forgotten. Toiletries in the rooms were not replenished and we found out ten days in that we were supposed to have robes in our room, but we had not been given these. Often our mini bar was not replenished. I could go on and repeat much of what has already been said in previous reviews and you are probably wondering what I am making such a fuss about. The point is that we paid alot more money than usual for this type of holiday to get the extras and this holiday just did not deliver. We have in the past paid less and got far more, making this a poor value for money holiday.
