Good relaxing holiday for mature couple without children.
Very nice holiday but slightly spoiled by cats calling (making a loud howling noise, obviously in season.) There was a cat with a kitten in a downstairs lounge area on our last day and it smelt as if it had urinated on the carpet. Its a shame they don't have a neutering programme in Turkey. The male cats had not been castrated. A gardener took a kitten away while we were sitting there.A German woman was very distressed as she thought they were going to destroy it and we were quite concerned too. I was also concerned about goldfish in bowls on reception and bar areas We have not had these in UK since 60s or 70s as they don't get enough oxygen. I found the staff weren't as friendly as staff in other countries such as Spain Malta, Goa, Tenerife, Majorca etc. On our first morning after a tiring journey the day before the staff on duty at late breakfast were not very helpful when we asked where we should sit or what the procedure was. They did not speak much English and the coffee machine was not in English but French. They tend to assume we were German and talked to us in German. It was disappointing that the flexible serve for a Thomas Cook rep involved being charged by hotel for ringing. We met two older English women one of whom had to go t the hospital with gastro enteritis. Her friend approached us as she recognised us from the flight, We told her we would be in a certain place at a certain tome rather than give her our room no. This is a role the Thomas Cook rep should have been carrying out really in my opinion. We didn't speak to any other English people during the week and were pleased to talk to the Thomas Cook rep who picked us up in the coach to take us to the airport.

Great relaxing break for mum and daughter
Loved this hotel, can't fault in anyway. Friendly check in, bags taken for us to room. Hotel is only 3 years old so my expectations were high and I was not disappointed. Rooms really spacious, clean, good quality furniture and comfy beds. Staff very friendly. Own area on beach was good and there was a beach bar which served lunch. Fridges on beach and poolside to help yourself to soft drinks, waiter service aswell. Free WiFI was a bonus. All in all perfect !

We stayed here a couple of years ago for a week and it was bliss. We have booked to go again this year for 2 weeks, It is the cleanest hotel with all you could expect from a 5star hotel. The cinema is a bonus, food beautiful and staff very friendly and helpful.

Excellent and relaxing stay for 11 days
Excellent stay in a location which made it very easy to visit local attractions.
All staff were friendly and polite
Our room had an excellent view of the pool and sea.
Variety of food and presentation in all restaurants was first class.
All inclusive drinks were what you you expect to find and drinkable

The staff at the Commodore Elite are wonderful; they just can't do enough.
The pool areas are excellent, although I'm not sure if it would be a little overcrowded in the summer (we went in October)
If you go, you must have an iced coffee in the Sweet Dreams cafe - lovely.
The food is very good and the theme nights were a nice touch. Can't comment on the two Al Carte restaurants as we didn't use them.
Be careful if you pick up your pool towel after 11am because you will be in for a telling off. The only time we did this was after a heavy rain shower which soon turned to lovely sunshine.
The rooms are very nice. Don't take any notice about the Germans being better catered for - you get what you opt and pay for.

Room was decorated with ribbons and flowers! Champagne fruit and a heart shaped cake waiting in the room for us! Room beautiful! Food was amazing! Pool area - could have been anywhere in the word! Pool waiter came around with trays of iced water, lovely just when your reaching boiling point! Fridges dotted around and on beach where you can help yourself to drinks! Nice! Beach - rows of sunbeds! We normally holiday in the Maldives so the beach was not for us! Waiting staff - the majority didn't seem happy to be serving us! This was contrary to what friends had said about the Turkish people! We would return - I believe you need to pick your hotel very carefully! Some very loud and full of children! This hotel is perfect for rest and recuperation, do take a Turkish bath! Bliss!

An excellent hotel with good food but you do need to pay a premium to get an acceptable room
Overall the Commodore Elite hotel, near Side, Turkey was excellent with polite and friendly staff, clean rooms and a good variety of well prepared and presented food. There were a few downsides which were that there was nothing to do outside the hotel complex and the area was quite shoddy with unfinished or deteriorated roads and pathways. The entertainment was poor to non-existant but we made our own so it was not a great cause for concern. Some of our group paid extra for their rooms and had lovely views. We didn't and ended up overlooking the building site next door. In fact, this did not bother us unduly as we quite enjoyed watching and commenting on the builders whilst sipping our drinks before dinner and there was no undue noise. The most significant limitation was that there was only one place within a reasonable distance to visit and that was Side, which we enjoyed, with it's mixture of ancient buildings and ruins combined with a touristy but clean and lively centre. What surprised us most was that everywhere prefered to use Euros (considering Turkey is not in the Euro), including the hotel and, since we all took Turkish Lira, we had a constant problem with traders having to use their calclators to convert and for us to keep cross checking prices.
