Turkey Resorts
Holidays in Turkey are amazing for so many reasons. It's a vast and spectacular country with a rich history stretching back over the centuries, an increasing number of exceptional Turkish resorts are providing some of the best Mediterranean holidays on offer. For beach lovers there are literally thousands of miles of simply stunning coastline, whilst for sightseers inland there’s a rich 1,000 year-old heritage to enjoy.
Altinkum
Altinkum is a charming resort and its name translates as 'Golden Sands', which gives you an idea of its best local feature. This thriving town welcomes its many visitors with superb hospitality, and there’s undoubtedly a relaxed atmosphere here compared to the hustle & bustle of livelier resorts. At night Altinkum exudes life; with lots of bars and restaurants, and even an open-air disco!
Dalyan
By the River Dalyan, and set slightly inland from the stunningly beautiful Turquoise Coast, Dalyan is overlooked by pine forested hills and serene mountains. Dalyan itself retains a wonderfully relaxed traditional feel, and yet there’s a good choice of restaurants and bars, and plenty to keep you occupied.
Bodrum
Bodrum has to be one of the most beautiful resorts to grace the Aegean coastline, with countless mazy streets & passages that wind around countless sugarcube houses and dwellings. A small beach provides a daytime focal point, but Bodrum holidays jump into life as the sun sets, with a surprising amount of dazzling nightlife to suit all.
Gumbet
Gumbet is renowned chiefly for its truly superb sand & shingle beach that's perfect for sunbathing and water sports, but its no one-trick pony by any stretch of the imagination... add to the list; a great choice of bars, cafes and restaurants, and as much shopping as you can handle. Gumbet is one of Turkey's most popular resorts, and with good reason. Plenty to do during the day and during the night - but also great if you just want to lie back and relax!
Hisaronu
Hisaronu lies by Turkey's Turquoise Coast - a National Park named after the breathtakingly blue waters that gently lap up against the golden sand and shingle beach of this quiet lagoon. Hisaronu is a hillside village resort that has been developed carefully in recent years whilst maintaining its original charm and character. It is, therefore, a perfect option for holidaymakers looking for a truly relaxing holiday.
Icmeler
One of the more upmarket resorts on Turkey’s stunning Lycian Coast, Icmeler is a gorgeous resort, with a relaxed, exclusive feel. The sand & shingle beach stretches across the wide bay, and the stunning scenery with impressive hills covered in lush greenery creates a beautiful serene backdrop.
Marmaris
Marmaris is set around a wide sandy bay and surrounded by pine-clad hills, and while the cosmopolitan centre has a definite stylish and elegant feel, the Old Town offers a wonderfully contrasting atmosphere with evocative narrow streets and bazaars, all within the 16th century Ottoman castle walls. As you fly into Dalaman holidays here begin pretty much as soon as you touch down.
Olu Deniz
The calmness of the blue lagoon by Olu Deniz is a much photographed location of outstanding natural beauty, and boasts a glorious sand and shingle beach, and calm clear waters. Though still a village, this is a thriving and very popular resort with plenty of daytime and nightlife activities to suit all ages.
Side
Side is an ancient walled city and was an important port in Roman times, however people are nowadays attracted to its stunning golden sandy beaches and wonderfully atmospheric streets full of bustling shops and restaurants. Perfect for holidaymakers looking for a great beach holiday with plenty to explore away from the sea.
Antalya and Alanya
Antalya is actually a sizeable coastal town with a long and stretching shingle beach that's overlooked by a quite outstanding mountain range. Antalya holidays are perhaps best suited to people looking for a lively resort with lots of modern tourist facilities, although the sleepy traditional beauty of Turkey’s hinterland is never far away. Also highly recommended is the nearby resort of Alanya, which like all resorts near Antalya, has a great mix of modern and traditional amenities and features.
