Early Escape from the Winter Blues
We stayed at this hotel in early March 2012. On arrival it was pouring down with rain but the very next day the sun was out and everything looked bright and clean. Our room was really comfortable and although a little dated, clean and in good order. The food was excellent with lots of choice for the various nationalites of clients. The pool area and pool itself was spotless and as it was very early in the season the indoor pool was a great retreat in the afternoon when the sun was going down and the temperature was cooler. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was easy to get out and about with cheap taxis available just outside the hotel. There was also a lovely little restaurant just outside if you wanted a change from the All Inclusive. Would highly recommend this hotel, by they way we made friends with a lovely couple as inb the dining room you are allocated a table to share, well done what a good way of getting to know people whilst sharing a meal. Definately will be revisiting.

A fantastic holiday for the price, would definitely recommend.
This was my first time in Tunisia. Myself and family normally opt for 4-5 star hotels, however as there was 13 of us travelling we decided that the Dar Khaam hotel would meet our needs. I am happy to say it did not disappoint. We were all allocated large family rooms, which were all closely situated. The rooms were cleaned daily and were cleaned to an exceptional standard, there were no issues with valuables or things going missing (unlike a recent trip to the Caribbean) . The sea view from my room was picturesque.
The private beach was amazing and was surprisingly clean, a bonus was that most of the water sports were free of charge. I also appreciated that I could purchase local craft items from sellers on the beach, who were not to pushy and were friendly
The staff were amazing and I think that they are under appreciated as they work really long hours. We were travelling with young children, who really enjoyed the entertainment and the fact that they were able to take part in the evening performances. I think the evening entertainment was the best that I have ever seen whilst holidaying, and would like to say a special thank you to all the entertainment team for making my family holiday amazing.
The food was what to expect whilst on an all inclusive holiday, as long as you are not to fussy you will always find something to eat. I must say that considering there were 13 of us travelling in our party, non of us become ill, which is unusual as when we have travelled in a large group previously at least one has become ill due to the buffet style eating. Well done to all the catering staff and waiters.
I heard a lot of people complaining, however these are people who had visited Dar Khayam on previous occasions (at least 3 times) I would advise that they try a different destination next time. Everyone within our group enjoyed their holiday experience.
I would like to say a special thank you to all at Dar Khayam for an amazing holiday and Thomas Cook for recommending this destination and hotel. We are planning our next family holiday at Dar Khayam for the same time next year, with an even larger family group. I am also thinking about going with a small group of friends in April 14.
I don't usually write reviews, however I thought I would make an exception as this hotel needs to be recognised for its good work and great quality. Thanks again.

could tell it was 3*
hotel rooms were clean although the bar areas outside were not always which attracted flies alot. food spilt would still be there the day after. food very repetative and bones in all your food is not a good taste. kids fizzy drinks just literally taste like drinking sugar. the queues for the bars were atleast 20 minutes to half hour long. the pool far too small for the ammount of people stying on the complex(looked alot larger in brochure). lucky there was a beach was really lovely i sing my praises for that, apart from being hassled to buy donuts or sarongs!! so all in all no i would not recommend, i never listen to reviews as i did not before i went but i understand now how important it is to do so.

Cheap and cheerful!
just what I needed. I headed loads of complaints but these other guests who expect 5* should pay for 5*. they do try to sell you stuff, but if your not interested just say no and they won't bother you. but remember this is a poor country so be nice! Everyone was very friendly, and we had a great time!

I have arrived home today after a week at Dar Khayam, after reading reviews we were a bit worried about what the complex was going to be like. The complex was great! It was clean, tidy and staff are very friendly. The complex has an onsite shop, bank, hair salon, spa and is not far from the beach.
We had an excellent time here, the only thing I would comment on is the staff selling excursions do not stop pestering you on your first day, however if you say no they will leave you alone, if you hesitate they will keep coming over until you book. Once we booked what we wanted and said no to the ones we did not want we were left alone.
I highly recommend the camel rides and also the quad biking, they are a great experience. Whilst we were there we also went on the jet ski's, banana boat, went into the local town to experience bartering. There is entertainment on each evening which is suitable for all ages.
They are not very big on health and safety in Tunisia, when cleaning there are no wet floor signs left out and also on our second night we got locked on our balcony due to the balcony door only opening from the inside, we soon learnt that a number of other guests had also had the same probably.
The food is not the best but it is edible and plenty of variety, there is something for everyone.
I highly recommend this hotel, I would definitely go back again!

The best holiday I have had in a long time! It's so nice were going back next year to the same hotel and taking friends with us!!
The foods amazing, I'm a very fussy eater but I ate every day without fail.
The hotle is so so clean, the cleaners came 2 times a day!!
The beach is beautiful (and I'm not beach person!)
Staff will do whatever you want/need them to do. And there's entertainment all day and all night!!
A* love it!!

good cheap hotel
stayed 4 times now. Animation team excellent. Food average, not much choice but able to find something to eat . Hotel staff friendly and helpful. As said stayed here 4 times staff get to know you. Stayed in April 1 year and staff put kiddies disco on just for my daughter ( 5yrs at time). To summerise if you want clean/friendly accommodation but not 5* , cheap/hot good place to go. Came back 6th june - looking to book again in Aug this year.

Good family holiday
Hotel great after reading some review I was a little worried but was soon put at ease, Good points too many to list great pools, staff, food always something to eat, beech a short walk and private you don't pay for sun shades or loungers all free, the local shop on the hotels site were great and if you don't like being pestered it was great and has good prices.
Bad points constantly pestered by street sellers on the beech around the pool and when you leave the hotel it was so bad we tried not to go far they did get the message but really is constant, if you need the rep when he is not in the hotel he will not answer his phone and he was only in an hour or so a day if you could find him! you could get hold of the resort office which were happy to help.
