Superb family holiday in Salou
We had a fantastic family holiday. The hotel was excellent and staff both friendly and efficient. The choice of delicious food was vast and varied. Ideally located for a family away from the clubs in centre of town. About 10 mins walk to the beach one way and 10 mins to Portadventura Park the other way. Great pool.
The family room we stayed in was spacious and spotless. Just could have done with a kettle (early morning Tea or Coffee). Our 14yr old son & 11 yr old daughter said they had a great time.

Chill out week in Salou
We had been to H10 Salaurus in 2010 so were happy to go back, unfortunately standards had fallen although rooms had been decorated furniture was mismatched. I had e mailed hotel in advance requesting top floor at front of hotel 3 weeks before going on holiday but when we arrived we were offered 3rd floor as top floor unavailable I said I had put request in & all of a sudden top floor became available! As for food selection not great & pork served every day in one form or another was bit like canteen food. Hotel cleanliness was excellent & rooms were always done quickly . The other problem was the adult bathing area on roof, clearly states only 16years & over yet people still take children up, the hotel pr did come up one day & ask family to leave, another woman told me Thomsons rep old her it was ok for her child to be there as long as they were!! If all the adults went along with this line of thinking what's point of having adults only section, there is a huge pool & children's pool on ground level so use it. Not one British television channel not that we watch much tv on hol but is good to have something to watch later on after we've been out .

Very clean and tidy resort. Not really for young kids as not enough for them to do in hotel. No fridge. They have what is described as a cool box which you can pay for but it is cooler in a furnace so waste of money. Could be doing with more big umbrellas. Plenty of sun beds. Pool is ace. Cheap enough shop on site but even cheaper in Spar which is just a 5 min walk. Excellent staff at main desk. Thomas cook rep good at ensuring you have all relevant info for checking out etc if you happen to miss them. Try Thomas cook tours if you have plenty of Euro's spare.

Salou is a nice resort for families, but wouldn't recommend for older couples in June as lots of families there with young children. Nice beach with a promenade, also a lovely wide walkway with coloured fountains. Hotel was good but more suitable for families with children. 15-20 min walk to beach but hotel was in a nice area. Nice pool area and kept clean. Food wasn't that brilliant with meat being tough and not a lot of veg to choose from although salad table was quite varied. Too many children and buggies and children dropping food on floor which was never picked up. Drinks 5-6 euros. Local buses seemed to all leave from the sea front which was 20 mins walk.

Great holiday in Salou
Myself and my 13 year old son stayed at the H10 Saularis Palace hotel in Salou for the week ending June 2010. I was a little worried as it was to be the 1st time we had been away on our own abroad but found everyone to be very helpful and friendly both at the hotel and in the resort itself. Flying 1st time with Thomas Cook airways I was surprised at how much leg room we had in our seats even if it was only a 1h 45 min flight it was still nice to have. When we arrived at the hotel we had about an hour to wait for our room to be ready so we sat near the pool and watched the childrens entertainment which was going on. The room we were allocated was fine, nothing special but clean and we enjoyed having a balcony overlooking the pool and entertainment area. The hotel is classed as a 4 star and we were not disappointed. The pool was lovely and clean and plenty of sun loungers to go around. There is even a roof terrace if you want to get away for a bit of peace and quiet. There seemed to be plenty for children to do and the nightly entertainment was really good. We stayed half board and the restaurant was buffet style dining. I have never seen so much choice of food to choose from, especially the breakfast buffet. The only negative thing I will say is you were only allowed drinks that were purchased whilst in the restaurant which were quite expensive. No drinks were allowed to be taken into the dining area even if they had been purchased from the bar. I know we were on holiday but I still think 4.80 euros is a little expensive for 2 very small bottles of coke. The hotel was in a very good position and we could walk to the beach within 5-10 mins where all the gift shops and supermarkets were and only a 5-10 min walk to the Portaventura Theme park. It was easy to catch a bus to Aquapolis which is the other waterpark in La Pineda which we were told was better for teenager children than the one at Portaventura. Aquapolis was 25 euros each to get in then 5.50 euros to rent a locker and 7 euros each if you want to hire an inflatable ring for some of the rides so it can turn out to be an expensive day. The weather was great while we were there and seemed to get hotter as the week went on. Both myself and my son agree we would definatley go to Salou again and would stay at Salauris Palace without a doubt.
