Hotel Sabinal - Now offering all inclusive. Just returned after 2 weeks at the Sabinal with our 21 yr old daughter (26/6 - 10/7). We have been visiting the Sabinal for many years now as we find it a nice fairly quiet hotel in a nice location. We know a great number of the staff who have been there for many years. Had a really nice stay with excellent weather. The one big change this year is the introduction of an All Inclusive offer. Having seen this in operation for the past few weeks, I find this to the detriment of the hotel. The main bar area has a queue (for All Inclusive customers) from 12 noon when it opens until midnight, the queue never seems to go away. Despite the best efforts of the bar staff which has increased, they seem unable to cope with the deluge. Customers who are not all inclusive then have the problem of trying to get served at another part of the bar. The same can be said about the outside pool side bar, the queues just don`t seem to go away. In the past 18 years of visiting this hotel I have never seen problems like this before. I saw young people being served alcohol at the bar and they were obviously under age. The hotel have now cancelled the Happy Hour they used to have twice a day where drinks were 2 for 1 price and the glasses seem to have got smaller, especially the cocktails, although prices remain the same. For the 1st time we found ourselves going out most nights were the local bars offer far better value for money. That was the down side, but the hotel still has an appeal to it for its seaside location. The entertainment is varied and is mostly geared for the Spanish, although this year I found a lot more English families at the hotel than previous years. Our holiday passed off with no problems at all - flights on time, excellent service from Thomas Cook both at the airport and in resort. Food was good as there is always something you can find to eat. This year the joke seemed to be the amount of pork being served at the carvery at night, which although was very nice, became a bit boring after seeing it being served 4 times in the 1st week. The hotel now offers free wifi - which is very limited and hence they also offer premium rate wifi at 5 euros a day. All in all a very good 2 weeks. July 12, 2014
Another Great Time Stayed at this Hotel in September last year 19th-26th Hotel is still really nice as we have stayed here about 8 times before Food is very good and a good selection. Drink prices are very good there are 3 Happy Hours a day in Hotel 2 drinks for the price of one! Swimming Pool is the best I have been in Location is superb right on the promanade which stretches for miles in both directions. The resort is lovely and very Spanish if you want a peaceful week or two in the sunshine this is the place to come to February 4, 2014
10/11 Consecutive visit ?.. Never get tired visiting the Old Lady. As intimated in the summary we have visited many times and shall continue to do so albeit from Glasgow. Its well worth the 500 miles return car drive to Manchester. The staff are friendly, receptive and always helpful should you need them. From Wendy at reception to Francisco and his staff in the restaurant. If you leave this restaurant hungry, just cut your throat as there is something to suit all. The resort is on the quiet side which is a massive attraction to those looking for the serene atmosphere. Certainly suits us. Been going so often now we have made friends with many of the locals. The Sabinal on the down side needs a major refurb and we are led to believe Antonio the Manager continues to approach the owners with this in mind. Do not let this comment detract from what is an excellent Hotel. See you September!!!!!!. July 2, 2013
ideal for families with young children Had a lovely holiday at Hesperia Sabinal in Roquetas de Mar. Hotel sat on the beach front. Beach is more shingle than sand but has plenty of space and does not get busy. Resort busy but rowdy with plenty to do for a good weeks holiday. October 15, 2012
5 years in a row must tell a story we love the position of the hotel right on the sea front and with a sea view it's a lovely relaxing outlook which makes the most of the holiday October 11, 2012
Good Hotel in an excellent location in a pleasant resort. This was our fourth visit to Roquetas de Mar and the Hotel Hesperia Sabinal in the last nine years all of them with Thos. Cook holidays. We find it to be an attractive resort particularly along the beachfront promenade. The massive expanse of beach is kept immaculately clean and is well served by numerous beachbars and cafes. The area is very flat and popular with older people because it makes for easy walking. Prices are very reasonable in bars and cafes and public transport is cheap although there is not much to see in the area. All things considered a decent place October 11, 2012
Ideal safe holiday for families at Roquetas de Mar, no drunks etc Hesperia Sabinal, to some dated, is extremely clean, food standard and choice is excellent. Staff exteremely friendly, helpful and respectful, On site or nearby lunch bars excellent food and choice. Just completed our eighth year at resort of Roquestas de Mar, seven at Hesperia Sabinal. Perfect Hotel but unfriendly staff HOTEL HESPERIA SABINAL After holidaying in Northern Spain for many years we decided to try the south. Almeria is a great place to holiday but a little behind the times. Tourism is the third place income for the area as crop growing and marble are a priority. The hotel was right on the beach front which was a blessing as you could never get around the pool!! The bar and restaurant staff were so unfriendly that after the first couple of days we didn't bother staying around at night (you would die of thirst before they would serve you). The entrertainment was ALL in Spanish and no other country was catered for. The Thomas Cook rep was just brilliant, her knowledge of the area was perfect and her welcome meeting fun and not to long. I would go back to Almeria but maybe try a different hotel. October 11, 2012
