Another great break at Sando San Blas Hotel
This is the 3rd time my wife and I have stayed at this hotel and we'll be back again. From the moment you walk into the hotel you know you're somewhere special.
The hotel is literally 10 mins from the airport, in the area referred to as The Golf del Sur. So, if transfers are not included, I would recommend a taxi as a quick and cheap option to get you there. There is a shingle/stone beach area just outside the hotel which you can use if you want (we never bothered). The hotel is located between 2 villages Los Abrigos and San Blas which you can easily walk to and have a look round (shops, pubs and restaurants).
The rooms are spacious and have everything you need. We did notice this time that some things are becoming a bit tired (just through normal wear and tear), however, if the Hotel tackles these then it will remain one of the best hotels in Tenerife. The beds are huge and very comfortable and you have free use of a room safe.
We have always found the staff to be very courteous and helpful. Our room was always spotless and all the staff love kids and have time to chat with them.
The buffet selection at all times is extremely good, the only problem is deciding what to eat as there’s such a good choice. There’s plenty of healthy option, grilled fish, chicken and lean meats, vegetables and fruit. The pudding selection and ice cream is also worth a mention. Where else on holiday can you have salmon gravlax and cava for breakfast? If you’re not careful, you’ll end up piling on the weight.
Plenty of choice and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the ‘local alcohol’ tasted. I’ve never had a problem at the hotel and if you do want to order something unusual (Black Russian which isn’t on the cocktail menu) just ask for the components separately (vodka and coke and a shot of coffee liquor and hey presto you have one). The wine is also very enjoyable and the Cava is a good quality. You can also ask for a ‘drink to go’ and the staff are happy to put it into a plastic glass for you so you can take it back to your room and sit outside on your terrace and watch the world go by.
If you want to be active, there’s plenty of choice offered by the hotel (football, climbing, diving, keep fit, gym, 8 swimming pools, kayaks, the list goes on). If you want to just relax, read a book and/or worship the sun, then there’s ample space, sun beds and location round the many pools to choose from. The hotel also offer a free bus service to the main town where you will find plenty or shops, places to eat and a lovely beach. The bus leaves at 10am and arrives back at 5pm in plenty of time for pre-dinner drinks!!! There’s also a kids club and evening entertainment to tire the little ones out before bedtime.
There’s always something on in the evenings and it’s located next to the restaurant, so when your meals finished, step outside, have a drink and enjoy the evening. We always ventured up to the Lobby Bar later, for a night cap and a relaxing seat outside.
All in all, we will be back and can’t recommend the hotel highly enough.

Fantastic Hotel with nature reserve and golf
My husband and I loved this hotel and will definitely be back. We found the food choice and quality excellent and never had a problem in being seated at a table. The staff were friendly and efficient. I loved the standard room, which was huge and very nicely fitted out, had a free safe, and has unique panels around two sides of the whirlpool bath which can be opened up into the room. My only minor complaint would be that all the beds are single but pushed together. We loved the Nature Reserve tour, which at 7 euros 50 was excellent value and thought the content was fantastic. We will definitely do it again too. All in all can't wait to go back

Couldn't fault the hotel's facilities at all. There was a good selection of food however it was very seafood orientated but there was still plenty of variety to cater for all tastes. Restaurant staff extremely helpful and couldn’t do enough for you.
Our room was very spacious and was spotlessly clean with satellite TV mini bar and a free safety deposit box. The beds were comfy and we really enjoyed having a Jacuzzi type bath. The balcony was big and enclosed so you weren’t disturbed by neighbours, however our room backed onto the kids playground next to the lake so could be quite noisy in the afternoon but this didn’t bother us
The swimming pools were excellent however even the 2 heated pools were extremely cold. There were plenty of sunbeds and seats so you didn’t have to get up early to reserve them.
The resort itself is very big and it’s easy to get lost. We also found it hard to remember where our room was the first few days due to the size and layout of the complex.
The Spa was very good but quite small but it was enough for us. It was 10euro for 50 mins use of the spa and around 30 euros for a simple back massage.
It’s right on the end of the Runway at Tenerife South Airport. there is a constant flow of aircraft coming and out of Tenerife, this didn’t bother us as there wasn’t much activity at the airport before 9am and the last flight landed around 9:30pm but bear in mind it may be different during peak times
The only let down was the weather. It was sunny and very hot but there was a constant 30mph wind with gusts up to 50mph throughout our whole stay. When we asked about the wind the staff couldn’t make their mind up about what to say. The receptionists advised us that it was freak and would stop by the end of the week. the lifeguards said its always windy like this but Playa De Las Americas was calm, and the restaurant staff seemed to think that it was mild for this time of year.
Overall I highly rate the Sandos San Blas and I look forward going back in the future. Fingers crossed for less wind next time though.

The weather was great but the Hotel was poor
Sandos San Blas Nature Resort and Golf is NOT a 5 star hotel. At best, it is a 3 star. It looks old and tired and is in dire need of refurbishment. We had to call a plumber out on the first day because the taps did not work properly. Towels and sheets were threadbare.

Great 1 week pre-winter break
Our first all-inclusive holiday and it has totally transformed my opinion of Tenerife. Great location away from the commercial exploitation of Playa Americas and a superb hotel with great service and food.
We cannot wait to go back.
It was AM-AZE-ING darling!

Nice family place in tenerife
Nice resort, we knew it was close to airport, planes didn't bother us really. Downside was that it a extremely windy resort, made it very uncomfortable to sunbath, relax in the evenings. Booked some excursions through Thomas cook.. Would have liked the rep to be more advisable and honest. Siam water park nice place but packed solid couldn't find anywhere to sit, needed the rep to advise to get there very early! Waited to long for free bus which was supposed to be every 20 mins, when were arrived there were about 100 people queuing so got a taxi for 8 euros. Reps also need to say that could be 8 plus pick ups before you get to your destination, very annoying when you have an hour before you actually start your journey. Beach outside resort was a mess, broken sun beds and umbrellas, don't advertise this resort next to beach it clearly isn't set up for visitors. My advise nice place to stay but don't venture out.

Great relaxing break
Great hotel. Everything from checking in to leaving was stress free. Short transfer from the Airport. Didn't find the planes flying over the hotel an issue.Great choice food. Range of meats, fish and salad available as well as mexican, pizza etc. Never had to wait long for a drink at any of the bars and Cava available from breakfast onwards. Entertainment varied but some very professional shows. Pools lovely though could be a little cold. Never had a problem getting a sunbed. Recommed the Nature Resort excursion. Very interesting and great value for money at around 7 euros. Hotel grounds well maintained with sculputures, waterfalls etc.Short walk to Los Abrigos and San Blas with a small selection of shops, supermarket, restaurants, bars etc. Free shuttle into Las Americas twice per day.Great having free wifi, especially if travelling with teenagers. I wouldn't have any hesitation in recommending this hotel to people. Will definately go back.

Very good hotel a bit too far out of the way
One of the kids left an Ipad in the entertainment area, realised almost immediately, went back to get it but the staff had locked the door telling us we could get back in to collect it in the morning, went back in the morning and although the bag the ipad was in was found the ipad had been stolen, under the circumstances we assume only a member of the staff could have taken it, very unhappy.
Flights to Tenerife was extremely poor, poor service, cramped and very unfriendly cabin crew, same airline on the way back much better staff.
I will definitely think twice before travelling with Thomas Cook again, First Choice/ Thomsons etc are far better.
