Fantastic Holiday Lanzarote
First Time in Lanzarote Puerto Del Carmen at the La Penita.
Excellent location, apartment big roomy and very comfortable. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff. Pool was excellent large and the games organisation for kids (and some adults) was really good. Still get the sun lounge hoggers but you get that anywhere.
Throughly enjoyed would definitely stay there again 10/10

I will start by saying, overall we had a lovely stay at La Penita.
Check in process quick and easy.
The apartments are basic, but have what you need. For a one bed apartment, it was quite spacious I thought. They are cleaned, and towels and bed linen changed regularly. Staff are all lovely, and helpful when required. There is a pool bar, serving drinks and snacks. We ate there once. My advice would be, as you are so close to numerous places to eat, go there instead. The snack bar food wasn't awful, you will just get better value elsewhere.
You can rent a safe for 11€ a week and a 5€ deposit. When you check in, ask for the TV remote too. There is wifi which is free, so also ask for the log in, but it is very patchy depending on where your apartment is.
Lots of sunbeds, which are of course, reserved every morning, even thought the management ask you not too.
We had a second floor apartment at the rear, number 148. Every morning, except Sundays, a very large, very loud bin lorry came to empty what I would assume was the complex bins. I know this is not the fault of La Penita, but be aware of this.
La Penita are situated very close to all the action. Accessed by 20 or so steps. You will find bars, places to eat, souvenir tat shops, a casino, a supermarket and a most fabulous beach, all close by. There are also several places to rent bikes and with a great cycle lane, you can go for miles quite safely. The apartments are gated, and the gates are locked, and guests have a key, so the complex is pretty safe. You do not hear any street noise, well we didn't in January. I don't know if in the height of the season that would change at all. But we didn't hear a peep.
We had to text a number to find out when our return pick up was as this resort doesn't have a rep.
So, pretty much a very nice place to stay.
But now comes my 1 real negative.
The bathroom window situation. There is a louvre type window in the bathroom, which backs on to the next door apartments louvre window. They are obviously not double glazed, which means you can hear bodily functions from next door. And if both apartments have their windows open, and there is a male standing doing what a man does, they can wave to each other! Needless to say, we kept ours closed.
However, this would not stop me going back. The other things, far outweigh the one negative.

Close to everything
Large apartments, great views from top floor, spotless, nice friendly staff. These apartments are on the flat part so no big hills to climb. Would go back there again. English channels on tv. at no extra cost.

We stayed at the Three corners ( extra charge ) in El Guna Egypt. I say extra charge because it was usually mentioned in every sentence.
Unfortunately we were staying in the rooms that haven't yet been refurbished so they were tired looking especially the bathroom but we had a peak in the newly done rooms and they were gorgeous. The view from our window was wonderful, overlooked the sea and the marina.
The swimming pool was gorgeous and I spent a lot of time in it. The marina is a lovely place to wander around in the evening and is only a 5 min walk.
The food was so so, like any all inclusive it gets a bit Samey after a while and was mostly pretty bland which pleased my hubby but not me.
It is supposed to be a No children under 14 hotel but I feel that may only apply to us as there were several babies around the pool.
I would suggest you take some Egyptian pounds with you as the favourite saying around the complex was " yes that's possible but for extra charge"

Was after a quiet week away relaxing in the Sun
Overall happy with the accomodation and resort. La Penita is in need of a little work to modernise it, but we knew that before we went!
The apartments are in an excellent location, near to a small beach and just a short walk from all the bars/restaurants.

Lovely apartment in a great location
The apartment was spacious and kept very clean during our stay, the pool area was great with plenty of sunbeds and spotless pool, it was end of sept and very warm so went in pool every day and loved it. There is a pool bar but other get drinks we didnt use it much. The staff were all helpful and friendly.
The location is perfect , two mintues to a supermarket for supplies , or a huge selection of restaurants to eat out, and literally minutes to a beach or five minutes to the big beach. Close to everything but quiet so could sleep no problem. Puerto del Carmen is well worth a visit and le Penita is a great place to stay. recommend it ...

Flights with TC an Transfers went very smoothly. Quick check in to smart apartments. Good sized rooms with plenty of storage. Bathroom large and more than adequate - toilt rolls provded! Regular good room cleaning etc. Kitchen area well equipped - sitting area comfortable- balcony spacious with views over buildings to sea - we saw a pod of about 8 dolphins one morning, Parrots regularly flew by. Maybe would need Air con in warmer months. Maybe more TV channels for the dark nights. Bar food and drink was good and fairly priced - unfortunately it did close early about 5.30 ish. - Plenty of excellent bars etc about 50 metres away. PDC was very pleasant and relaxing resort at that time. Rep attended nearly every day and was helpful with advice.
