I stayed for 7 days in May 2012 with my partner. I was a bit concerned that the only rooms available were family rooms in the annex over the street from the main building but my fears proved unfounded. Because it was off high season there were only a handful of families staying there and so the room was very peaceful.
The room was also very spacious, more like a junior suite. There was kitchen facilities also meaning we could have a good old cuppa whenever we wanted. The balcony overlooked the small pool and we had sunshine on it almost all day. The pool bar at the small pool was closed as it was off season so we used the loungers by the main pool. There was never a shortage of loungers and if you were more adventurous there was a rooftop solarium which was adults only and you could go 'au naturalle' if you were of that inclination...we passed on this!
The food was plentiful and very good even though we were all inclusive.
All inclusive in the bars stopped at 23.00 but we were usually ready for bed by then so this was not an issue.
Staff were very helpful and worked tirelessly. Rooms were cleaned daily and bottled water was left everyday in the rooms. It is just a 15/20 minute walk to Marina Rubicon and there are several shops close by if you are self catering.
The animation team work hard all day providing games etc if you want to join in but unlike many places they were not pushy if you declined.
Wi-fi is available for an additional cost and there is a safe in the room. A deposit is required but refundable on check out
All in all I had a great time and would not hesitate to return and would certainly recommend it to anyone.

Three star at best
we were in room 325. Rooms 301-331 are basement rooms are look out onto a3m high grey stone wall similar I imagine to a prison. The hotel would not relocate us. The Entertainment was DIRE consisting of a show each evening which finished about 10-1030 pm after that nothing. The piano bar had the atmosphere of a 60s cafe, the piano was only played one night a week. other than that it was constant football on a wall mounted TV. Free wifi for 30 minutes each day in the piano bar but you had to wait exactly 24 hours before you got your next free 30 minutes. This is supposed to be a four star hotel, I dont see how when you compare with other resort 4 stars (Lanzarote Princess for example). Its not a bad hotel but its not good nor is it Iberostar usual standard. The restaurant service and food quality was five star in my opinion. the rest of the hotel needs to match up to it.
The boeing 757 300 is the worst aeroplane I have flown in as the seats were so close together even my 5' 8'' struggled for comfort

Fantastic holiday in Fuerteventura
Just returned from a weeks holiday in the Barcelo Corralejo Bay Hotel and had a fantastic time. The only downfall were the transfers to and from the airport which were not organised at all. Too many people were told to get on the same bus to the resort, we then had to wait another half hour until all their luggage was taken off the bus and alternative transfers were organised. There was no rep on the bus back to the airport, we did not know if we were on the correct bus and if everyone had been picked up or not ??
The flights were good and on time.
The hotel was superb, we were upgraded to a superior room which was amazing, the hotel should be upgraded to a 5 star hotel.

Very poor customer service...!
My review will not be coming if you cannot even get my name correct, my partner is Gillingham I am Mr Twamley. That is very poor customer service and I could not believe my room was also booked in the wrong name, no wonder you are in financial trouble when you cannot get the simple things correct

This was our first trip to Playa Blanca, but we had spent more than 10 years travelling to and from Lanzarote for our Holidays. From the start of the holiday until the finish back in the UK it was wonderful. we cannot fault the Thomas Cook or the hotel in any way. Our only gripe was the selfishness of some of the guests who decided they had the right to deprive other guests of cushions off of the sunbeds to make themselves more comfortable,by this I mean they weren't satisfied with one they were using two each and removing sun umbrellas so that they had one each. Other than this the holday was perfect.
