My Fiancé and I just got back from our first holiday abroad together. Overall, we had a really great time. The apartments were a typical 3* - not much to complain ab
out really it just could do with some updating. If you were to go self catering there aren't a lot of facilities though and you have to hire the kettle 1euro a day and a 5euro deposit. The balconies are huge which was really good as I've stayed in a 4* with much smaller balconies. The pool area is lovely plenty of sunbeds but not actually much space to put them all so it could get quite cramped in the middle of the summer. The entertainment team are brilliant all day and we loved how they played music throughout the day.
The location is good... a short walk to the beach (which is a very nice beach) and some shops and a spar shop very close. We ended up going to the spar a lot to buy drink as we really weren't happy with the drinks provided. It was always crowded and the alcoholic drinks were horrible.. they tasted really cheap and watery.. everything coming from a pump. We were quite disappointed by that but drinks from the spar weren't exactly expensive so we didn't mind too much. The food was pretty average.. majority of it being quite nice but not much variety. The food was always the same even for lunch and dinner and never anything new. All they need to do is shake things up a bit and provide a bit more variety. We went out for dinner on our last night to Cactus Jack's which is very close by and we loved that. Really cheap and the food and drink was excellent. Lots of entertainment too so would definitely recommend going there.
We went on the excursion to the volcanoes which was fabulous. It only cost 35 euros each and you got to go up to the restaurant and have a drink and then a long drive through all the volcanoes - the views were amazing and we got some really nice pictures. Then we went on to another beautiful place near the sea where we got loads more pictures. After that we went on a camel ride which was lovely and lastly we went on to do some wine tasting. We were back by half 2 to enjoy the rest of the day in the sunshine. That excursion is definitely worth doing.
We would definitely like to go back to Lanzarote one day but we think we would stay in a different resort like Puerto Del Carmen because there seems to be a lot more to do there and we definitely would like to stay in a different hotel next time. We had a great holiday and with the Ficus.. you get what you pay for.

The apartment was dirty, shabby, more like a 1 star. The fridge was rusty and dirty, and would not put anything in it. We stayed 1 night then moved to El Trebol with
the blessing of the management. Could not recommend this resort to anybody.

Just arrived back from the ficus , I read all the reviews before i went so I more or less knew what to expect, The reviews were pretty accurate, Food ok , Rooms not
cleaned well. dust and hair on floors I noticed as soon as we entered the room, Our patio door had a 1" gap in it and the light did not work, sockets were very unstable on the walls wary about using them , I know you get what you pay for but even so, its our hard earned money and you expect a bit of nice!! On our last day 3 rooms had been broken in to phones , cash , jewllery stolen . With the bad locks and dodgy patio doors Im not really surprised. Some people love the ficus thats their choice, but we were not impressed thats my choice. So come on Ficus hotel read the reviews there are plenty that werent impressed and do something about it. Nobody swam in the pool it was freezing thats got to tell them something. The trouble is once you are there is nothing you can do , you just dont go back again !!!!

The location in Costa is very good. Not to far from the beach, however most of the people staying all inclusive are afraid to leave the grounds in case they miss a m
eal or drink!
We found ourselves some what in a group of our own, why you may ask – The Ficus seemed to be split into categories such as very young couples – 18-30 and OAP or Disabled. As we are late 30’s we did not fit into any of the groups so did our own thing.
If I have to say one negative thing it would be the entertainment at the Ficus – I’m not saying the two entertainers did not work hard – however music was blearing around the pool from 10am until midnight – Not our bag!
There was a break in the music for about 1 hour whilst they had there evening meal – but then the cabaret.
After that – it was great, not music all night, so you don’t mind how loud the music is during the day as its VERY quite at night.
The hotel it’s self can not be faulted – The food was to die for – and the staff are very friendly – If the music was not pumped around poolside all day, we would go back.
Maybe we should join the OAP group ?
Overall – Great short break.

This was our fifth time in 3 years at the Ficus Aparthotel! To me that speaks for itself!
My Husband and I are in our 60's and like the laid back atmosphere of Costa
Teguise, Puerto del Carmen etc.
We take four weekly breaks a year and at least one will always be at The Ficus. Staff are excellent, friendly, apartments have all the space we need, and as yet have not experienced any trouble with 'lager louts'.
We have been at different times of the Year, and hope to be back again early next year, looking for deals at the moment actually.
As I said before the Staff, that includes Reception, Dining and Maids are very friendly, and we cannot believe that we have been lucky enough to find this 'LITTLE GEM', tucked away, out of the hustle and bustle.
Thanks for giving me the chance to praise the Ficus, hope it never changes and that the Staff, who work so hard to make sure the holiday you expect is what you get, get to read this and know that they are appreciated, especially the Dining Waitress who always remembers me as the SWEETIE LADY.
Look forward to flying with you next Year,

bargain holiday, you get what you pay for!! was very impressed when it only cost £481 each adult all inclusive. ate loads, drank loads, only 15 min walk to gorgeous
beach. good evening entertainment for kids (even though we don't have any!). nice pool, although cold - always full.
rooms a bit old fashioned, but always clean. just kept thinking if we wanted 4 star accommodation and super-fancy food it would have cost us much more, so weren't disappointed.
i'm veggie and there was plenty of food, never went hungry.
overall would highly recommend it.

The Ficus was basic, there wasn't enough choice in food and the soft drinks were weak like rola cola. The entertainers tried their best to put a show on, but there c
ould have been a variety of shows with professional acts. We found it hard to find a good place to sunbathe as the trees shaded alot of the pool area. We found out that some holiday makers were putting their towels on sunbeds late at night to get the best spots, this should have been regulated so as everyone was only allowed to put towels on in the morning.

First i will start by saying dont let this review put you of going to Lanzarote or Costa Teguise, i have nothing but good things to say about the resort or country.
On the other hand, the Ficus is a disgrace!!! They lack hygine in the 14 days i spent there i have recieved 4 clean towels, which mean for 10 days i was drying in dirty towels, they didnt change the sheets, even though the pillow case my bf got had old blood stains on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now the food! its disgusting, totally unedable, we ended up eating out everyday, breakfast, dinner and tea! it ended up costing us more money even though we went all inclusive to save money. The drinks constantly ran out so if u wanted coke you got water, if u wanted orange you got water.
The ficus totally ruined my holiday and i couldnt wait to get home, which never happens.

Had avery good time while we stayed at the Ficus appartmems. The rooms were basic, but what do expect on apackage holiday "the Ritz". They all had self catoring facil
ities, so the fridge was very welcome. The pools were very good, with a seperate one for the children, but could have been a little warmer. A good variety of food, but sometimes as the pool, could have been a little warmer. The resort & beaches were only a 15 min walk away, so we had a walk to stretch our legs most days. Daytime entertainment was good. but at night it was exelent, the best wev'e ever seen at any hotel or appartments wev'e ever stayed at. All in all a very enjoyable holiday. we would certainly go back again.

Sadly we arrived home a couple of days ago, but it’s not all bad because we had an absolutely fantastic holiday at The Ficus. From the moment we walked in to the pla
ce, we were greeted with friendly smiles from the Hotel Staff, the Entertainment Team and fellow holiday makers. All the hotel staff were lovely, in particular Rosa, Jesse, Enrique & James Bond look-a-like. Despite the long hours all of the guys put in, they were consistently friendly and made us feel that nothing was too much trouble.
We felt that the selection of food available was of a high standard. Yes, there were repetitive dishes served each day, but these were presented as staple side orders. If the fries or pasta were removed off the daily menu, there would be up-roar (at least there would have been from our daughter anyway). A good variety of meat and fish were provided at each meal time, and would suit different tastes. Our apartment was thoroughly cleaned, our bed sheets changed & adequate fresh towels were provided on alternate days. A big thank you to our cleaner lady! The guys who clean the pool & poolside in the mornings do a fantastic job too. Don’t let the Entertainment Team fool you; by day, they masquerade themselves as pretty average amateur table tennis & darts players (but with bags more enthusiasm than the average player we’re sure of it); but by night, there’s not one thing that’s average about them. Helen’s party attitude is highly contagious and she makes sure everyone’s infected with fun. Georgia has the voice of an angel & a beautiful face to match. Thanks for taking the time out to chat, play & dance with our daughter Charlie, it boosted her confidence no end. Pete’s got all the ‘muves’; a big hit with the young and the more mature ladies alike (despite the florescent spandex uni-tard for the Abba performance last week!)
All the other holiday makers were relaxed and friendly which added to the whole experience. We met some great people during our time at the Ficus.
Charlie says; hope Liz aka Nana, Chelsea&Amy all got back ok last week. Happy birthday to Amy for next week. Thanks for the boogies on the dance floor & splashes in the pool; Jodie,Jessica,Thomas,Holly,Karen,Lilly,Keirra, Kaila,Olivia &Millie. Thanks Page for my cuddles & Jack & Finley for playing hide n’ seek. Big hugs to Jim & Jacqueline. Thankyou for your kind words and to those who were willing to let me apply some lip gloss! Good luck to Phil & his beautiful girlfriend, enjoy being parents. Lots of tight squeezes to Christine & Pat. And finally, I’ve saved the best till last – Going to miss you Maisy, my best friend! Stay in touch & we’ll properly go out on the toon together. Put it in your diary for 13 yrs time!
We would recommend the Ficus to anyone who wants a great holiday, just bring along a smile and you’re sure to have a good time.

It was my first holiday and it was amazing. I would recommend to everyone to travel with Thomas Cook as they have an excellent service and made my holidays hassle fr
ee. The weather was lovely, hotel had a great food but was too noisy (close to a busy road, also our room was close to stairs, so we could hear people walking up and down-very, very annoying) there was little ants living in our room so we couldn't bring any food, also the room wasn't clean (dust, hairs on the floor) even if it was cleaned every second day, the pool was freezing, difficult to get a sunbed, never went for evening entertainment, so can't comment on that. In overall I had a great time and spent most of it outside hotel( 10min walk to the beach) just coming for food and sleep(couldn't get proper sleep because of noise).

Just returned from weeks holiday in lanzarote with partner and two small children (4 and 1). Accommodation clean and spacious. We were all inclusive but stayed in a
one bedroom apartment which was really usefull as my one year is still on milk and could be stored in fridge. Also the quality of the food at the ficus was excellent, good variety at lunch and dinner every day. The entertainment staff were also really friendly and had a great manner with all the guests. They had a wide range of activities every day to pass the time if you so desired, but didn't hassel you if you just wanted to relax at the pool. Beautiful beach was about a 10 minute walk but this was good exercise to walk off all the food and drink. Most enjoyable week. Highly recommended. would return.

My husband and I recently holidayed in Lanzarote in the resort of Costa Teguise. We both needed a holiday that was both relaxing, but also had interesting things to
see. We booked at the Ficus Apartments for a week and decided to go All Inclusive. The hotel is very clean and had good facitilities. The all inclusive saved us a fortune and we were able to eat and drink whenever we wanted. There seemed to be food and drinks available for most of the day, this was good because the weather was hot. Children are well catered for with a range of different foods, drinks and ice creams. The swimming pool area is lovely with plenty of sunbeds and if you have children, there is a camp entertainer who involves the children all day in different types of games. she was good at involving the adults too in water volleyball and other games. In the evening there was entertainment every night and of good quality, and a kids club early around 6.30. The entertainment centre is large and comfortable. There are a range of bars within 3 minutes walk of the Ficus and the beach is about a 5 minute walk. The beach area is very pretty and is very clean. There is a range of shops, bars and eating houses in Costa Teguise, there are nightclubs for the more energetic, or younger set! On the whole though, Costa Teguise is a more laid back resort and can be very relaxing. Lanzarote has some wonderful sights to see. We went on a tour of the cactus gardens and the lava caves and visited Cesar Manrique's house, which was unbelievably unusual. There are other trips to the volcanoes and other resorts on the island. This is our second visit to Lanzarote and we will definately go back, I will make sure we stay at the Ficus Apartments again as we were both so impressed at how friendly, clean and relaxing it was. We couldnt think of anything that they could improve on, we had a lovely time and came home refreshed.

My boyfriend and I decided to go on holiday to Lanzarote for our first anniversary in February 2009 and we went to Costa Teguise to the Ficus all inclusive. The staf
f were really friendly and the food was delicious with lots of variety. The beach was just a short walk away and there were plently of little pubs and shops around the area to keep us entertained. The entertainment at the Ficus may be more suited to an older audience, but we could not fault any other aspect, we had a brilliant time!
