Holiday in Costa Teguise
The hotel Bluebay Lanzarote is a clean and tidy hotel sited in a good area easy area to walk down to the esplanade. The staff are out of this world they are lovely helpful and work very hard. The only downside on our holiday was the repetative food the main meat over the stay was pork ouch and evening meal would not recommend the hotel unless it does something with the menu

we would def return to the blue bay...should we go to Lanzaroe again....
After reading some of the reviews on Thomas Cook site also on trip advisor, we started our holiday with some trepidation, as we usually go 4* or 5*...when we realized it was a 3* hotel we were concerned!!
Arriving at reception, we were greeted by the most helpful of staff we have known..
Our room was A 303...overlooking pool and with a sea view
Room was well furnished..very clean..spotless.
sheets changed 4times during out stay, but the most pleasant maids..who by the way we could not fault..(well done ladies)
Food:-...plenty of choice...never went hungry...
Drinks:- good choice, all day and evening...
Waiting staff and Bar staff...always had a smile Nina and Carlos especially..
There was lots of choice of both food and drink...more than we could ever have at home (cupboards not big enough)
entertainment...v good...but you did not have to participate if you did not want to.
Negatives:-..Beds were a little hard for us....maybe they could hire out mattress toppers?
Music in the theatre was a little too loud
Would we stay here again YES!!!

Excellent hotel and wonderful staff
This hotel is a bit out of the way but its easy to get elsewhere on the island.
Staff were excellent all the time especially the waiters and bar staff, in particular Salim and Yassim who made our holiday as great as it was. They both are professional in their jobs but go the extra mile to make you smile.

Friendly hotel, good facilities and location
Nice family holiday, however there were unexpected costs such as charges for wifi (20 Euros per appliance per week), charge for television (20 Euros) and even charge on top of deposit 10 Euros per towel. I expect to pay for a safety deposit box but these extra charges are profiteering at best and should be mentioned in the Thomas Cook brochure. Service in restaurants and bars was excellent, as was the entertainment.
The food in the restaurant, although plentiful, was not of the calibre and quality of a 4 star hotel. Cheapest meat and fish was used (I have never had a paella prepared with crab sticks before!).
Thomas Cook should change their category from 4 star to 3 star and reduce their prices fir this hotel.

I visited Bluebay from 4th-11th July 2013 with my husband and 12 year old daughter. We were very disappointed. This is defintely not a 4* hotel but a 3*at best and definitely not worth the money.
We were very surprised to find that in peak season there were at most 30 people staying in the hotel. This had a lot of impact of the service we recieved.
Reception: We arrived at 11:30pm and were left to locate our room on our own in the pitch black, having to drag our suitcases up numerous staircases.
Room: Clean and spacious but thats as good as it gets! I was there with my husband and daughter and the room was only set up for 2 people- towels, cutlery, chairs, beds etc. I complained and it took over a day for them to rectify the problem. The beds were extremely uncomfortable- almost like camp beds! We coud feel every spring in them. We complained and asked for the beds to be changed. The best they could do was to put a fleece blanket under the sheet to disguise the springs! This did not help at all! Needless to say we had very little sleep during our 7 night stay.
Pool: The pool was freezing and had broken tiles on the floor which ment the pool was empty most of the time. The plastic sunloungers were also very uncomfortable. Everyone there had purchased a li-low to make it a little more bareable. There were a few parasols which was fine for us as it was empty but I think on a busy day it would be impossible to get one.
Bars: The pool bar had flat soft drinks which resulted in us drinking a lot of water. The bar in reception was slightly better.
Food: Disgusting. As the hotel was so quiet the staff were not replenishing the food regularly with fresh food, so it was all cold, mushy and inedible. This resulted in us eating out quite frequently which we didn't anticipate in an All-inclusive hotel.
Price: The safe was 30euros for 7 nights and to hire 3 towels it was 75 euros!!!! (30 euro deposit and charge of 40 euros) Needless to say we didn't take them up on this offer! This is seemingly due to laundring costs being so high.
Staff: This is the only positive thing about our experience! All of the staff are helpful, friendly and hard working! its a shame the hotel could not be as good.
Thomas Cook seriously need to look carefully into this hotel as we feel we wasted our money.

AVERAGE HOLIDAY IN LANZAROTE
Just returned after a week in blue bay costa Teguise.apartments very clean but need drawer space and more light in apartments.also would have been happier if we had;nt had cockroaches dropping out of the shower curtains and in the rooms.As a mature couple we found entertainment very poor and one member of bar staff extremely rude to the point she refused to serve us having served other people arriving at the bar after us thinking she was being funny.We left and went to the theatre bar for civilty.Food was ok but needed to be hotter and variety of sweets non existent.Some staff were very pleasant and helpful but some didn't want to know,

excellent staff mediocre everything else
The only thing that saved this hotel was the wonderful, helpful staff.
The accomodation though clean was tired and mediocre. 3star at most.
As I don't consider Karaoke and quizzes to be entertainment, there were only a few short times a week when it was OK.
The food was good, the main courses changed every night, unlike the rest.
