FABU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A GREAT HOTEL AND RESORT , FAULTLESS !!!!!!!!!
We stayed at the cala esmeralda hotel 7 th july for 1 week we had 2 teenagers aged 17 and 15, i was worried that it may have been too quiet for them but they loved it they relaxed as much as we did, food fab, rooms spotless and resort lovely. The hotel staff so so friendly and so efficient, we would defo recommend this hotel to our friends and family. You wont be disappointed. Loved being able to walk across the bay to a busier resort for a drink then return to the peacefulness of the hotel, you get the best of both worlds if thats what you want, no sunbed dashing at early hours always a bed available even at lunch time, snackbar besides the pool was really nice too. Just a 10 to 15 min walk into cala dor well worth it as lovely shops and bars to visit, we will return .

lovely family holiday
we had a lovely time, we stayed at cala azul. the accommodaition was quite basic with only two rings and no oven, but the appartments were very clean and we had two towel changes and we were only staying for a week. We were self catering but we ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel once during our stay. the breakfast was fantastic with a great choice , but the dinner was massed produced frozen products . The entertainment was fantastic especially in the esmeralda park part of the hotel. the swimming pool area was lovely and clean. and the lifeguard would remove and fold up towels that were on sun beds that werent being used. so you could always get a sunbed. the view of the cove is beautiful . we would go back and stay there again.

Fab holiday poor return service from Thomas Cook
These apartments are fab for families of all ages. Loads to do, very relaxed and suberb setting. We have 2 teenage boys 17 and 14 who could wander off on there own day and night and we knew they were safe. Most of the bars and restaurants close at 12pm, but there are some that stay open till 2pm but close the doors to avoid noise on the streets. The resort had activites from football courts to swimming pool games and we always found a sunbed for our group (12 people) upto 10am every morning. We stayed in block G which overlooked the beach and the cove. absolutely stunning. The resort is only a short, less than 10 minute walk from the main pubs and shops. Thee are numerous places to eat but with 4 adults in our familiy the average dinner price was 55 euros. we ate out everynight and didnt have a bad meal all the time we wre there.
However our return journey with Thomas Cook was a nightmare. 25 minutes from landing in Newcastle our plane was re-directed to birmingham because they needed it to transport passengers in Birmingham to Turkey. seems if your on your way home and they already have your money they dont care about their customer service. Stuck in Birmingham for 4 hours after a very bad landing. 230 very nervous and frustrated passengers and a very intimidating atmosphere when again we were stuck on the tarmac for 2 hours because the pilot couldn't get the engines started on the second plane.
Thomas Cook never again. Cala Azul Park definitely.

Lovely family holiday
We spent a wonderful week at the Cala Azul Park. Before I go any further it is worth mentioning that if you book with Thomas Cook you could be placed within any of the 3 hotels that make up this complex. One of which (Cala Azul Gardens) is about a 5 min walk away across a road and away from the entertainment and restaurant.
We were placed in Cala Azul park and we were lucky enough to be in a room which overlooked the pool and had a seaview. It was really lovely.
We found the hotel quiet and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There was always cleaning gonig on, the place was spotless.
We stayed half board and my husband was really pleased with the choice of food. Lots of fresh fish and varieties of meat. Also some themed nights too. As a fussy vegetarian, I would say the food was ok. There was always a vegetarian choice but as I said I am quite fussy. The desserts were amazing!
The restaurant also had a beautiful seaview and if we got down early enough we could sit outside.
The beaches are all small coves and just gorgeous! The closest being cala esmeralda which is very small but the sea is so calm and clear.
The centre of Cala D'or is about a 15 min walk. We tended to walk there in the evenings as our girls found it too hot to walk far in the day. It is a lovely town with lots of bars and restaurants and another beach too. Lots of families seem to stay in this area which we found nice. Alot of English families but alot of German too.
We really liked it here and would definately come back.

was not happy that the coach dropped us off at the reception of Cala azul park to wait in a queue to be checked in with 2 kids and suitcases after an 8 hr journey that started at 3am only to be told we needed to be at the reception of cala azul gardens which was quite a walk down the road across the road and down a pathway, in the blazing heat, tired and no assistance with our bags was offered. However once in the right place the accomodation was comfortable but the use of a microwave would have been good seeing as it was self catering. All that was available was 2 electric rings and a toaster.
the room was very comfortable with air conditioning which was most appreciated.
overall thought the holiday was lovely the resort was very clean and well maintained and lots of eating places locally.

We had a great holiday, lovely area & very nice hotel. All shops, bars/resturants within walking distance. Very clean, safe area with plenty to do, lots of little beaches. I would recommend this hotel & area.
