Great family holiday
I arrived home on Friday after eleven days with my thirteen year old twins ( one of whom is autistic ) and my dad ( who spent met of his time in a wheelchair ).
We all had a lovely relaxing break. We stayed in the cottages which a lot of other families weren't as happy with as the majority of entertainment is held in the hotel adjoined to the cottage. However for us it was fantastic. The loud family attractions were a couple minutes walk away with total peace and quiet for us. There are a lot of children but it is a family world accommodation so to be expected.
Our apartment was huge, with a large terrace surrounded by grass and palm trees. Again on the outskirts of the blocks of apartments but we liked this. It was still a matter of seconds to the pool. A park just beside our apartment too. The biggest accommodation I have ever stayed in. Two big double bedrooms with two double wardrobes in each and bathroom each. TV in front room with English channels too. The staff were amazing. All of them every one. I won't even particularly name them as they were all outstanding. They were understaffed at times but they certainly made up for this by the hard work Speedand fantastic attitude they had.
The food suited all. We all ate ever night. They couldn't do enough for my dad in particular.
It was spotless. You could tell that the cottage was previously a self catering accommodation but again this was an advantage. Best of both worlds! We found the staff friendlier in the cottage than the hotel and certainly more generous with their measures of spirits!
This accommodation really does suit all. If you want action packed holiday constant request the hotel (1) if you want quiet evenings and the option to for entertainment request cottage (2)
This was the first holiday abroad without my mum for my dad and it was made special by the staff. Thank you blanc palace!

Blanc Palace cottages
Under-staffed, definitely not 4* more like 2* , small pool dirty! restaurant clean but shortage of cutlery and crockery at every meal.
Would NOT recommend the cottages but would recommend the Blanc Palace Hotel which was very different by comparison!
Beach dirty and location very secluded although good bus service to other beaches.

much better than expected
we had a great time at the blanc palace 2.the staff are so friendly even thou they are slightly understaffed.rooms are good with air conditioning etc and were cleaned 6 out of the 7 days we were there.food in my opinion was good there is plenty of choice ;meats fish vegi and lots of different salads.plenty for the kids to do in the day around the pool with the reps doing all sorts of games.evening entertainment in the main hotel was only ok but something on every night.it was high season so we might of had to wait 5 mins for a drink at the bar but we never waited long to be seated for dinner.on the whole I think its a brill hotel for families

Great holiday in menorca, not due to the hotel though
Once we arrived at the hotel and checked in, which was reasonably quick, we went up to our room on the first floor. When we entered our room, there was a gap in the kitchen, where we worked out that there was meant to be a microwave. We went down to recpection and the quickly resolved this issue. The room was very average. The only real complaint were the kitchen facilities and thr shower kept coming off. The sofabeds and twin bed were perfectly fine. For us(group of teenagers) we didnt spend much time in the hotel. There are two beaches closeby which were both very nice. The pool at the hotel was fine, but ypu needed to get up at 7am and reserve a sunbed with towels, otherwise theres no chance of a sunbed. We were looking for a non typical teen holiday, but still wanted to experience some nightlife, whcih cuitadella was perfect for, just a 5 euro taxi away was where all the bars, restaurants and clubs were. And with taxis running 24hrs we had no issue with getting back to the hotel in the small hours of the morning. We ate out most nights, cooked in the apartment once and had dinner in the hotel once, which the food was definatly below average. The gym was non operational at the time, which was a slight disapointment. We had a blast on holiday, but i wouldnt say it was due to our stay in blanc palace! I soudl say that boanc palace need to improve on the rooms decor and facilites and improve quality of the food.

Excellent family holiday in Blanc Palace Cottage (2)
My family and I had a fantastic holiday here. Location, hotel, facilities and staff were excellent. Our one bedroomed accommodation was lovely and modern and larger than expected. My daughter loved having her own pull out bed in the living area. Whilst my husband and I enjoyed a drink on the balcony whilst watching the sun go down. All facilities were good, my daughter who's 4 lived in the two pools for the week. She also enjoyed the kids club which were run by some very good English staff who were all qualified. She still tells us that she misses Keeley and cheeky Dale! She also made some very good friends with children of the same age.
The restaurant staff were amazing especially Julan the manager. Both my husband and I are gluten intolerant so were a little concerned as to what we would be able to eat. Every meal time Julan ensured that we had something to eat and if there wasn't anything available they cooked something specially for us. The evening and daytime entertainment for parents and children was excellent, a good variety and lots of fun to be had if you so wished.
Overall this is a lovely hotel in a beautiful location with a handful of shops in walking distance and a large supermarket about 15mins walk away. Or a short bus ride or taxi to Cuitadella centre. Two bueatiful beaches on your doorstep and friendly locals. I would certainly recommend this to families with youg children, I think teenagers may get bored.
Very happy holiday maker who wishes she was still there!

Very poor value for money
The best thing about the holiday was the flight with British Airways, leg room on the plane was superb. Now down to the hotel. Arrived very late on a Saturday evening and it took us an hour to find our rooms, girl on the reception hadn't got a clue and took us on a tour of the complete complex before finally finding our rooms. Get into the rooms only to find the one room wouldn't lock and could be opened by anyone from the outside. Once again back to reception, it is now almost midnight and we have two very tired young children. We were then moved to another room which had a smell reminiscent of sewers but we were too tired to care. We paid very good money for this holiday which wasn't cheap and although it was all inclusive there seemed to be a lot of conditions attached to when you could and couldn't have certain things. The staff were very helpful but there weren't enough of them , each time we wanted a drink we seemed to be in a queue, maybe there was method in their madness. The nearby beach was not very clean with mess and seaweed everywhere including being constantly harassed by ducks. As for the entertainment if you weren't there by 7 o'clock you couldn't get a seat. The food was nothing to write home about and all in all I think this is the worst hotel we have stayed at. I can understand why Thomson dropped it from their brochure. p.s even the coffee was vile.

Highly recommend for young families.
My local Thomas Cook agent understood exactly what type of holiday I was looking. We went as a family of four, two adults and two children aged 8 and 6. I knew I was on to a good thing when she told me that she was going here with her young family a few weeks before us. You can't get a better recommendation than that. We commenced an all inclusive seven night stay in Blanc Palace 2 on Monday 26th May 2014. This is the white hotel that you can see featured in Thomas Cook's brochure and on their webpage. The other hotel is Blanc Palace 1 which is the terracotta coloured one. The two hotels are on the same road and you can use the facilities on both sites but your meals are to be taken at the hotel you are staying in. I was very pleased to be staying in Blanc Palace 2. This is the smaller one of the two.We stayed in a two bedroom apartment on the first floor. The apartment was extremely clean and tidy with good facilities and ample fresh towels supplied. The beds were very comfortable. The double bed is massive. If there is such a thing as a super superking, then this was it! The bedrooms are cleaned at least five days a week with the maid's day off on Wednesday. There is a good sized swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers. There is also the castle with it's water slides and paddling pool in front of it, a games room, a small play area, sandpit and football pitch with goals and nets. The staff in the restaurant, led by Julian the head waiter, are excellent. The food in the restaurant is of a very high standard. There is plenty of variety and also a great selection of cold drinks on tap plus beer and coffee machines which provide a variety of different types. We had some excellent meals. There are plenty of highchairs available for the little ones. It was nice to see that a number of these had already been put ready at the tables for some guests rather than them having to collect them themselves. Extra highchairs were lined to the side of the restaurant. The pool bar opens from 11.00 until 18.30. Serving hot and cold drinks and ice cream between those times and between 11.00 - 12.30 serving hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken nuggets and chips. The salon bar opens from 19.00 - 23.00. Trays of cakes or pizza appear at the bars every now and then too and you can help yourself. The entertainment team, kids club and creche teams are just lovely. Warm, friendly and kind to the children, they provide nice safe environments, great entertainment and lots of fun and laughter. They are all extremely dedicated and focused and our two children loved them all. There are various parties for the children during the week, some are free and some have an extra fee. Ours did the Chocolate Halloween party (worth the money but prepare for mess!), Super Hero, VIP party and Secret Agent. There are an assortment of activities (sport, quizzes, sweepstakes etc) you can get involved in during the day and the entertainment team pop around the pool every now and then to see if you want to join in but they are not in your face about it and you certainly don't feel pressurized into joining in. It's good fun though, the quizzes are good, you don't even have to get off the sun lounger as they bring you the quiz sheet and a pen and collect it later! My daughter enjoyed the higher or lower card game and also french bowls which she won! Certificates are given to the winners and she really liked that and also winning best dancer in one of the free children's discos one evening! My husband quite literally threw himself into the game of cricket and even managed to win Man of the Match! Sa Caleta is a quiet, residential resort. There is a small, safe cove a couple of minutes away from the hotel with a bar. Our children loved it there and could wade out to the side and see all the little sardines. There is a larger beach about five or six minutes walk away but our two enjoyed the cove more. There is a small supermarket by the hotel where you can buy essentials and rubber rings, snorkels, water guns, buckets and spades. There is also a nice souvenir shop called Mirabel around the corner from Blanc Palace 1 as well as car rental and a bar. There is also a Spar in the area. You can walk to other towns or get a bus or taxi. Sian the tour rep is very helpful and can provide this information and there is also a folder left in reception with all this information. For us personally, we didn't feel the need to go off site a lot as everything we needed was on site. The children loved the pool, water slide, playground and the entertainment. In the evening the kids entertainment stops at 21.00 and then it's more the adult entertainment. We did one trip via Thomas Cook during our holiday to see the dancing horses at Somni. These horses have toured around the world and they are amazing. It wasn't cheap at 118 euros but we wanted to do something different and my daughter loves horses. Having said that, it was such a great and interesting excursion that we felt it was well worth it. There are lots of horses and lots of surprises but I won't spoil it by saying any more! If you do one trip on your holiday, I would recommend this one. You won't see anything like it anywhere else and the arena is quite small so you get a really good view. If you are looking for a really nice family holiday particularly if you have children up to the age of 10, I would highly recommend you book at the Blanc Palace 2. You are sure to be made very welcome here.
