Rated 5 out of 5 by zippy lovely place, great holiday
roc oasis park was great much larger accomodation than expected due to previously being self catering appt which was great as we were all inclusive we got the advantage of seperate bedroom plus settee tables and chairs etc for relaxing so much better than just a hotel room .the best of both worlds really. we also had the glasses, crockery etc should we need them and the fridge which is great for the water etc for those hot days/nights.
the food was all very nice and a good choice every mealtime.
serve yourself on the beer ,wine, water & soft drinks so less queues at the bar which is a great idea. lots of nice walks in the immediate area and also a local bus stop which we used several times to explore more of the island.
all in all a lovely relaxing holiday .

Rated 3 out of 5 by Darlo Do not take a family in the October holiday
Was very shocked and disappointed that 99% of Menorca was closed down for the season in the October school holiday. Found this very annoying as the price was as expensive as the rest of the year, and the holiday was advertised in a family holiday brochure. The pool was freezing at this time of year, so there was very little to do to entertain the children. Thomas Cook should have made families aware in their brochure of how quiet it would be at that time of year and also reflect this in their prices!!! Very misleading holiday!!! Overall Menorca is a lovely place to visit.

a really nice complex your never more than 20 odd yards from one of the pools. Brilliant staff. All inclusive and the food was ok. Not a resort for beach lovers as they are quite small and rocky. but the pool area more than made up for this. brilliant for families with younger kids as they are well entertained by the staff. Would recommend all inclusive but there enough restaurants to last a fortnight in this small town

This is the first time we had been on a Thomas Cook package and although we had an OK time overall, we would not go back to these apartments.
We were allocated a two bedroom apartment (number 816) for 5 people that was far too small. The mattresses in one bedroom were quite new but the ones in the other were as old as I am (44)!! The same could be said about the sofa bed.....The beds also had slats missing which led to them being uncomfortable.
The staff were very friendly and when I reported the TV was broken, a remote control was provided within 30 minutes (normally you have to 'rent' a remote control (!!) but as the buttons on the TV did not change either the volume or the channels (BBC1, 2 CBBC & SKY News only) they gave us one gratis).
Only the main room had a fan so 7 hot and sticky nights were endured as the alternative was to rent fans at £18/week each. The same applied to a key for the safe in the appartment but this one we went for as the Rep stressed the need to protect your passports and any cash you weren't carrying - a nice little earner!!
The bedding was changed during the week and the room cleaned and the towels changed 3 times.
The worst part of the holiday was trying to sleep at nights. Although part of this was due to the heat, it was mostly due to the loud music (with the usual heavy bass beats) coming from both Jimmy Hill's and Blue Breeze which were immediately opposite our appartment.
I am not exagerating when I say that each and every night, the row went on until at least 5 o'clock. It was clear that neither the owners or the patrons had any respect for anyone else. Jimmy Hill's is completely open at the front so the noise carried - if they closed the doors at midnight and kept the noise inside it wouldn't have been so bad! Also, the people coming and going until closing time obviously couldn't speak to each other, they needed to shout - it was just like being outside a club at closing time......
Moving on, I think the stereotypical teutonic ideas have spread closer to home! The vast majority of people on the site were British and trying to get a sunbed after 9am.....good luck! There are two pools and at the samller of them there was one particular woman who insisted on saving four sunbeds each morning although only using one herself much later in the day (yes, you know who you are!!). The rest she appeared to be saving for her kids who I only saw on 4 occasions all week, and none of them times were sunbathing.....
Finally.......I would recommend L'Ancora to eat, as well as Es Forn (if they only cheered up a bit!). The water park was dear at £90 for us - there arn't that many slides and they don't do a 1/2 day ticket.
Glad to be home........
Room Tip: Don't let them allocate you Block 8, try and get Block 2. Rent your fans from AsdaPrice Supermarket

We just got back on Monday and had a fabulous time...the only downfall was that the Kids Club was not a Thomas Cook one as advertised....it was run by the aminamation team, which meant the kids were able to come and go as they pleased....we found this out when our 4 and 5 year old walked past us as we were having a drink at the bar (we had only left them in 10 mins ago)....NOT AMUSED....had to pay to get the kids into the Thomas Cook Kids Club at next Hotel !!!

beware al inclusive at the roc dosent mean all inclusive ask before booking... food hardly any choice ...kids club not run by thomas cook.....staff friendly enough.....would go back to menorca in a minute but would not go back to roc oasis in a million years ....they need a big shake up and need to look at what other places are offering....the only thing in the roc that was thomas cook was the rep who worked avery hard at resolving all the complaints...
