Excellent 3 Star Hotel!
Just home from 2 weeks at the Hotel Samoa. In all, a really good hotel. Nice pool, good childrens pool, good rooms and very friendly. The downside is that when it is mealtime 2 lifts are just not enough. You can sometimes wait for the lift 3 times and still have to walk down the stairs to the dining room. The upside is that the food is really excellent. Vary varied and plenty of choice for all tastes and all the food was really well cooked and tasty. I cannot believe that some reviewers can possibly find fault with the food!
A highly reccomendable hotel which I would be more than happy to revisit!!!
NB: Be prepared for a long transfer from Palma Airport. We sat on the coach for 1 hour while they waited for later flights and it then took 2 hours to transfer us with numerous drop offs. Coming home the coach picked us up at 5.15am for a 10.30am flight!!!!

Very good holiday at the Samoa
The Samoa is a lovely hotel and is very near the beach which was very clean and beautiful but a bit too steep for walking back if you have any trouble at all with your legs. We had a sea view to the front of the hotel. The hotel itself is directly across from the only shopping area in this resort where the shops were varied and surprisingly not too expensive. A small train will take you round the resort showing you all the hotels and if you are further away from the beach is a good way to get there and back.
All at Reception were extremely helpful and polite. Our room on the fourth floor was very clean and adequate. Bedding changed weekly and towels exchanged every day if you wanted. Hard beds which are a personal preference. Air conditioning unit on balcony. No fridge in room.
The food was plentiful and varied. Breakfast, in particular, was extremely good with a wide variety of fresh fruit, pancakes, croissants, cold meats, full English-style breakfast; in fact, everything you would want (the juice wasn't so good). At lunch and dinner, the grilling of some meats left a lot to be desired but everything else was extremely good.
The snack bar beside the pool area was open for lunch and in the afternoon serving a varied menu of fish, burgers, sausages, chips etc and very fresh salad.
The daily bar was run very efficiently and, if there was a queue in the evening, it disappeared fast. The main bar, beside the dining room, was not in use in May.
The evening entertainment was dire – but having no children with us we were often out at the many bars and restaurants within easy walking distance.
Plenty of sunbeds around the pool, which was freezing. The pool itself was shaped in a figure 8 style with the top circle being quite deep and ample room for water polo in the lower half. There is a baby pool too. With us going in May they may not have had a chance to warm up.
My only gripe with the Samoa was the plastic glasses. These are a necessity for during the day, around the pool area, but in the evening and at dinner you would like normal glasses.
A good 3 star hotel and with a little more effort could be a 4 star!

holidat to majorca
had a lovely time with friends, the hotel was ideally situated in the heart of the resort. The rooms and staff were excellent.Plenty of room around pool ,with plenty of sunbeds for everyone. The only down side for us was the food.Breakfast was good english breakfast, but the rest was not to our tasting. If you like Pork and Veal every day then it will be all right for you.Saying this it would not put me off going back to the Samoa again.Bus stop right outside to let you do your own thing and plenty of cafes etc right opposite the hotel.

Solo week in Majorca
I spent the week at the Samoa as my family was staying nearby.
The first impressions of the hotel were very good - though the room was a bit basic - but it was 3 star. However the air con made up for that as it was boiling hot day and night.
The location in excellent as it is very near to a beautiful beach and the shops. The main bus stop is outside and the doctor is on the premises.
The main problem was with the food as it was all geared up to the Germans who were about 90% of the guests in the hotel.
Every meal was some sort of veal [yuk] or pork although one lunch time we got chicken - hooray !
They did a Chinese evening which was commendable but I did not see anything that appealed [duck in orange sauce??] so I had to have something from the children's buffet.
I had fish and salad every lunch apart from the chicken day and fish and chips every dinner along with tinned green beans which were served each day.
All in all I got a good deal although the bus from the airport took 2 hours and even the rep got off and left me and the driver to go to the hotel alone !!
I loved the resort and the weather was fab so was the beach - all in all a good time was had.
