Excellent hotel! Great for families!
We had a lovely holiday! Hotel, swimming pools and location all great! Very clean hotel with friendly staff. There air conditioning too which is freezing- you just need to pay a deposit on the remote.
Lots of bars and restraurants on the doorstep of the hotel. A very short walk away is a little bar with a little farm- and buy one get one free on drinks. We were all inclusive at the hotel but as we got such a good deal we like wondering out around the resort.
The only bad thing about the hotel was having to wait for the lifts but it didn't ruin the holiday or anything. We were warned at the time of booking that the transfer can be a bit long so we paid for a speedy transfer which was great! It wasn't expensive and we got our own private air conditioned mini bus- would definitely recommend it.
Overall a great holiday :-)

holiday at samoa
we arrived on saturday 7/6/2014 and every where looked very clean . The reception staff gave us a key to our rooms and we were told about the safety deposit box , which was for hire for the time we were there at a cost,we were told that if we wanted a remote for the air conditioning , or tv it would cost us a deposit of 10 euro for each remote control and was refundable at the end of the holiday. We went to room but could not get in and had to get the cleaner to show us how to unlock ,door . Got into room the toilet seat was broken and the remote control for the air conditioning did not work , called reception and they got the service team to come and sort it out.The beds in the room were very low and hard. Food was not varied enough at meal times especially some of the meat,as it was tough.I did not like the plastic glasses , I appreciate people having to have them in the day around the pool , but it would have been nice to have a glass at night and also a pint glass for the beer. It sometimes was noisy at night late when people should appreciate other people could be in bed, so should not stand talking in the early hours in the corridors, there are notices asking for people to be considerate, but some people were not.The pool area in the day was overtaken by children so most adults could not go to the deep end and just swim, as some of the children were jumping in.I think the children should have the bottom end of the pool and the adults the deep end. Some of the evening entertainmet was dire. There were also notices which said men should be in long trousers for evening meal, but 80%were in shorts .There were some nice bars and shops locally but not much else there. Beach was very nice but a bit expensive to hire sunbeds. Local bus was good if you wanted to venture out on your own.

Excellent 3 Star Hotel!
Just home from 2 weeks at the Hotel Samoa. In all, a really good hotel. Nice pool, good childrens pool, good rooms and very friendly. The downside is that when it is mealtime 2 lifts are just not enough. You can sometimes wait for the lift 3 times and still have to walk down the stairs to the dining room. The upside is that the food is really excellent. Vary varied and plenty of choice for all tastes and all the food was really well cooked and tasty. I cannot believe that some reviewers can possibly find fault with the food!
A highly reccomendable hotel which I would be more than happy to revisit!!!
NB: Be prepared for a long transfer from Palma Airport. We sat on the coach for 1 hour while they waited for later flights and it then took 2 hours to transfer us with numerous drop offs. Coming home the coach picked us up at 5.15am for a 10.30am flight!!!!

Very good holiday at the Samoa
The Samoa is a lovely hotel and is very near the beach which was very clean and beautiful but a bit too steep for walking back if you have any trouble at all with your legs. We had a sea view to the front of the hotel. The hotel itself is directly across from the only shopping area in this resort where the shops were varied and surprisingly not too expensive. A small train will take you round the resort showing you all the hotels and if you are further away from the beach is a good way to get there and back.
All at Reception were extremely helpful and polite. Our room on the fourth floor was very clean and adequate. Bedding changed weekly and towels exchanged every day if you wanted. Hard beds which are a personal preference. Air conditioning unit on balcony. No fridge in room.
The food was plentiful and varied. Breakfast, in particular, was extremely good with a wide variety of fresh fruit, pancakes, croissants, cold meats, full English-style breakfast; in fact, everything you would want (the juice wasn't so good). At lunch and dinner, the grilling of some meats left a lot to be desired but everything else was extremely good.
The snack bar beside the pool area was open for lunch and in the afternoon serving a varied menu of fish, burgers, sausages, chips etc and very fresh salad.
The daily bar was run very efficiently and, if there was a queue in the evening, it disappeared fast. The main bar, beside the dining room, was not in use in May.
The evening entertainment was dire – but having no children with us we were often out at the many bars and restaurants within easy walking distance.
Plenty of sunbeds around the pool, which was freezing. The pool itself was shaped in a figure 8 style with the top circle being quite deep and ample room for water polo in the lower half. There is a baby pool too. With us going in May they may not have had a chance to warm up.
My only gripe with the Samoa was the plastic glasses. These are a necessity for during the day, around the pool area, but in the evening and at dinner you would like normal glasses.
A good 3 star hotel and with a little more effort could be a 4 star!
