We booked thru Thomas Cook on-line. Had homeward bound flight times changed,as well as accomodation.Stayed in Cala-Dor at Sa Marina Hotel (Self catering) The hotel w
as excellent so clean. The staff were really polite and helpful. The facilities were incredible two outdoor pools, heated indoor pool, gym sauna resturant ect...On the day we arrived given details of a welcome meeting with Thomas Cook rep.Turned up on time and waited nearly 45mins with other guests. no rep! Didn't see him all week until last night when we were out in the town having a meal.I heard a guy at the bar talking about various pick-ups at Hotels and asked him if he was our rep,and he was.He said he thought everyone had been contacted about change of day and time for welcome meeting.
The weather was very hot most of the week,we swam in the sea several times. The resturants were nearly all open and very friendly. There were several supermarkets nearby and we were able to walk everywhere. We stayed in the school half term holidays, after which everything was closing for the end of the season.

Sa Marina was very good to excelent, the flights out and bac were comfortable and on time and the taxi transfers were really worthwhile. Cala D'or is very good for p
eople of all ages with a good pedestrian area which is close to the Sa Marina but not so close as to result in noise. We found Jimmy's Bar was very good and friendly for snacks and the Copa D'or was our favourite for evening meals with a good menu selection and friendly helpful staff and the prices are not bad either. We will definately return to the Sa Marina soon.

Sa Marina has everything - great location, friendly staff, great facilities and lots to do for my 9 and 10 year old. Rooms were spacious and kep immaculate by the cl
eaning staff. Pools and Hotel also immaculate and a nice refreshing change that there were still sunbed spaces at 10.00 am as the hotel enforces a no reserving policy! Will definately be back.

We stayed at the Sa Marina again this year after an excellent holiday there last year. They have even improved on a few thing since then. i cannot recommend this pla
ce highly enough. The staff, facilities and not to mention the food are all 5 star quality. The resort of Cala D or is also an ideal place for anyone wanting a relaxing holiday. No time share pests here! we will def be back again!

we travelled with my 16 year old son to the Sa Marina Aparthotel. He was never bored and enjoyed all the daytime activities around the pool.especially the water polo
. The hotel is in a great location, close to resort centre and Marina. I would recommend this hotel to families with children of any age and couples. All staff were very pleasant and helpful.

The Sa Marina was a lovely hote, but unfortunately, although we requested a pool view room we were shoved out the back of the hotel overlooking a busy road and it wa
s like being on holiday by the side of the North Circular, very noisy and we were not able to sit out in the evening peacefully. We did ask to be moved but we never heard anything. The food was lovely and MOST of the staff were friendly, Andrea on reception was exceptionally helpful. All in all a nice holiday in a great resort but spoilt a bit by the noise level outside the room.

our holiday was spoiled only by our thomas cook rep. She was unable to hire a car big enough for our partyand said it was not advisable to try to hire one ourselves.
However we were able to hire one ourselves from the company used by the hotel. We then left our key for our own car in the safe at the hotel. We understand that Thomas Cook do not take responsibility for items left behind but our rep took it on herself to take our keys with her to another resort in Magaluf. We had to find out where the keys were and then arrange for them to be picked up. At no time did we receive any assistance from Thomas Cook. Very disappointing!!

We travelled to this hotel in for 11nights in June as a family with a 4year old and a 8month old. We stayed on a half board basis.
The hotel is staffed by a fantast
ic team of people who are all really friendly, especially towards the children, everyone from the chambermaid through to reception staff.
There are three accommodation blocks, one housing the reception and restuarant, the one we stayed in was called Es Sinivar (Block2) this is in between the two pools. Block 3 is set further back from the main reception area.
The hotel got busier during our stay but we always managed to find a sunlounger (pool towels are provided) There is a pool attendant who removes towels from 'reserved' sunbeds - a great idea!
The manager was seen at regular intervals during the holiday, and always said hello and asked how you were enjoying your stay.
The food was buffet style and we were always able to find something suitable for all the family. Whilst the apartments don't have a microwave, there is one available to use in the restaurant at meal times, great for heating up pureed baby food.
The food was of a fantastic quality and was constantly being refreshed/replaced during meal times. They even have a childrens corner to satisfy the most fussy eaters! (Look out for the vegetable 'animals' that are put out at times around the serving trays - our favourite was a penguin made out ot aubergiune with a carrot for his nose and feet!)
The entertainment was of a good standard, we only used the kids club once (shy 4yr old) but they seemed to run a varied programme and the mini disco in the evening was a great feature. After this there was entertaiment for the adults, the chinese acrobats were particularly impressive.
All in all a great holiday and we are planning to return next year!
At the time of writing this review the hotel is currently number 1 of 50 in Cala d'or that are reviewed by Trip Advisor users and I can see why.

Our family holiday to Majorca is usually spent in Santa Ponsa but this year we fancied a change so chose Cala D'or. The resort is small but nice with a concentrated
area of restraunts, shops and bars at the centre. The beach is reached via a hill road leading to the very pretty bay.
We stayed at the Aparthotel Sa Marina. The staff were very efficient and in the main very friendly and helpful; the restaurant food buffet style with a good selection but as is often the case very busy at peak times making a meal more of an ordeal than a pleasure. The room was very clean with good facilities (tv, fridge, small kitchen area).
There are two swimming pools, pretty standard holiday pools, but our main gripe about this holiday was that the pool areas were not routinely swept of hosed down, making the area quite dirty to walk on - this is the main issue that would put us off booking this hotel again (and why I've rated the accommodation andfacilities only 3/5), a pity because they keep the rest of the hotel beautifully clean.
There is an indoor pool with jaccuzzi and sauna (not staffed) so kids must be carefully supervised.
Kids entertainment was pretty good with a kids club and evening entertainment.
The cost of drinks was very expensive, however there was a happy hour (2 for 1) between 5 and 6 pm (not a great deal of use to those with kids, though).

This was our first holiday with our 15 month old toddler, and the hotel was recommended to us from a friend who had stayed there 5 years previously. All I can say is
, 'it's changed'.
The location of the hotel within Cala D'Or is fantastic, but other than that I wouldn't recommend it, unless you like extremely loud children's entertainment which goes on until midnight (make sure you don't ask for a pool side view), the self catering facilities was below standard (I can't believe it's classed as 4 star), the rooms smelt musty and mouldy for the duration of the holiday.
The rooms are not cleaned every day (the cleaners are off 2 days a week), there is no staff assistance around the pool (which we found when the parasols were broken).
Cala D'Or is lovely, but hugely expensive. The cost of eating out for 2 adults (main course x2, and bottle of wine) was around £60. The cost of food in the local Spar shops was hugely expensive, therefore it's worth walking that extra bit to go to the Eroski supermarket.
The Thomas Cook rep at the hotel was typically awful, and was rude when I asked a simple question about pick up times to the airport (we were flying the next morning, and he still hadn't told us the time we would be collected from the hotel).
All in all - not really impressed!

Brilliant holiday really clean and friendly accomadation really good location central for everything.Town 2 mins walk Harbour 5 mins walk and several beaches on your
doorstep.Brilliant clean well kept swimming pool areas.Only downside was cost of excursion prices but it didn't stop us as we hired a car and we got to see the full island but must say Cala D'or is the best beach resort we found by far.

Excellent resort and holiday. This was my 4th time in Cala D'Or and 2nd time at Hotel Sa Marina. It's a really good hotel with friendly staff, beautiful pool area, s
potless rooms and public areas. The food was great wiith a good variety. Only complaint was the entertainment, it was good 3 nights out of 7 but pretty poor the other nights. I think Cala D'Or would be a great resort for families with younger kids and older groups or couples. This was our 2nd Majorca trip with Thomas Cook, airport check-in good, transfers were quick and rep's were very helpful. Overall it was a very enjoyable holiday.

We stayed at the Sa Marina in Cala D'or. The hotel is wonderful for families and in October is not busy either around the pool or on the local beaches. The hotel is
kept to a really high standard. The food is good with a wide variety of choice. The salads are particularly good as are the breakfasts. This is our 5th visit and we have always had excellent service. It's a 10 minute walk down to the beaches which are small and in summer I expect they would get very crowded. We did leave an expensive brand new pair of shoes in the room when we left and so phoned the hotel the same day to ask that they send them on. Apparently nobody found which I find hard to believe. I know it's our own fault for leaving them but it has left me feeling pretty disappointed with the hotel particularly after so many visits.

We booked this holiday to the Sa Marina in Cala D'Or on spec and took with us our grandchild who is 8 years old. The holiday was one of the most relaxing I have had
for some time and a great surprise given that we had an 8 year old with us. He was kept occupied by the excellent childrens clubs run in the morning and afternoon and the mini disco in the early evening. All these were held beside the pool so we could still see what he was doing. If not at the clubs he was in one of the two excellent pools. The accomodation was also excellent, spotlessly clean, and the food was good and plentiful. No running out of things towards the end of meal times. Staff were also helpful and attentive particularly to our grandson who was on first name terms with most by the end of the holiday.
I would certainly consider returning to this hotel in May or September with my wife without our grandson it was so good.
The only downside however was Palma Airport. Once again this was a shambles both at arrival and particularly departure. We spent so long waiting at the check in desk that we had literally to run to catch our flight and for this Thomas Cook can take no credit for efficiency. They seem to have a lot of staff with check boards at the check in area but none seem to have an actual purpose in speeding up the check in procedure. This certainly put a damper on this holiday and reminded me why we have not visited Majorca of late for a holiday. Previous experiences of this airport have always been poor and the tour companies seem unwilling or unable to to do anything about the situation.
Overall the holiday would have been a "5" but for the poor experiences at the airport.

We cannot fault this holiday at all.The Sa Marina is excellent the staff cannot do enough for you.The rooms were of great comfort and very clean. The pool area is gr
eat and the indoor pool also excellent if the weather is iffy. The Sa Marina is situated in a lovely area in Cala D'or near all of the resorts ameneties. The beaches are a nice stroll , do invest in an umbrella if you go to the beach often as you will be charged 12.50 euros for 2 sunbeads and a parasol, so for 4 of us it was 25 euros which is expensive if you visited the beach more than once.

We very much dispointed with our holiday to the Sa Marina. The hotel write up is excellent both in your brouchure and also on trip advisor. On arrival we were greete
d well be the receptionist however we were informed that although a travel cot had been booked we had to apy and additional charge to the hotel of 26 euros to the hotel. Our apartment was ok, very clean but also very basic. During the holiday my wife went to pay the cot hire and also pay for the hire of the safety deposit box. Upon departure as i was checking out the receptionist informed me that we still had an outstanding charge for the travel cot of 26 Euros. Unfortunatley as we had not kept the receipt from when my wife paid the hotel refused to check us out until we paid......AGAIN. As it was first thing in the morning and our coach was ready to leave we reluntantly PAID again as the recptionist was not will to coperate. In hind sight i wish i had stood me ground but to be frank we just wanted to get on the coach home. So in summary the hotel was average and the resort was good however we were not aware that a fee was to be charged for the travel cot in thr first place and then we actual paid that fee ( a total of 52 euros) twice. As such this has left a very sour taste in our month about our holiday. I hope this complaint is read and understood and i look forward to a reply. If you need anyfurther detail please ask
