second visit to the hotel a bit disapointed by a drop in the cleanliness. public areas ok but room cleaning minimal and corridors not cleaned in the two weeks we wer
e there. food ok but again slightly disapointing compared to last year. i took a party of 19 by common concensus the above comments were agreed. we will not be returning and looking elsewhere. in spite of all this we enjoyed the holiday and love the resort.

This was our second stay at Pollensa Park as it suited all our requirements as a family group. (2 grandparents, 2 adults, and a 6 year old travelled the last two wee
ks in August). Reception staff were friendly and efficient and spoke good English. We were allocated 2 rooms on the 4th floor (423 and 429) overlooking the pool area, which was the opposite side to the previous visit when we overlooked the street. Must say that the pool side is preferable, as you don't have to put up with the awful Elvis and Take That tribute acts at the British bar on the other side. Rooms were comfortable and clean, with a decent balcony that wasn't overlooked by adjacent buildiings and you could sit out in the shade overlooking the sea.
The hotel is mainly occupied by families with younger children, and it has to be said that they were all well behaved and not rowdy and running all over the place.
The nightly entertainment was average, finishing around 11.30 to midnight, but at least it's been moved outside around the pool, so us Brits can at least have a couple of weeks of the year sitting outdoors.
The food was OK most of the time but there were a couple of occasions when one or two of us were struggling to find something, but we managed to cobble a meal together in the end. If you're a salad and soup lover you'll be OK though as there's plenty of choice.
It's only a short hop down to the beach past a good selection of supermarkets etc. where you can buy drinks, sandwiches, etc so all in all a very good holiday and somewhere we'd be happy stay again.

HAVE STAYED AT POLLENSA PARK FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW. THIS YEAR WE NOTICED CHANGES - BUT NOT FOR THE BETTER !!
STAFF HAVE BEEN REDUCED AND WORK REALLY HARD IN BARS AND
RESTAURANT BUT IT'S OBVOIUS THEY ARE NOT HAPPY !
RECEPTION STAFF ARE NOT AT ALL HELPFUL ! THEY JUST SHRUG THEIR SHOULDERS WHEN ASKED ANYTHING AND NEVER SMILE. ON ARRIVAL. WE WEREN'T TOLD WHEN BREAKFAST OR DINNER WAS AND WHEN WE ASKED, IT WAS AN EFFORT TO GET AN ANSWER.
WE ASKED FOR A QUIET ROOM ON A HIGH FLOOR AND ENDED UP ON SECOND FLOOR , TWO ROOMS AWAY FROM DISCO AND ENTERTAINMENT, WHEN WE ASKED IF WE COULD CHANGE ROOMS ON ARRIVAL RECEPTION STAFF JUST SAID NO.
THE ROOM NEEDED UPGRADING

I paid for what I thought would be an luxary hotel and on the surface it looks like one but after two weeks we realised its all show .Four beds were squeezed into ou
r room , thankfully over looking a very good music bar that had better entertainment than the hotel awful childrens disco and tired acts , the belles were very good show though . The food was excellent but sometimes our plates were removed before we had finished the meal . Childrens club consisted of darts and shove halfpenny , trampolines at 3 euro but it is not policed so only the first person pays . The pool had objects floating that were not removed until the morning , so something to watch while the drab caberet is on under the pool lights ! The free spa is not free as you need to buy towels and shower hats .The lock on the tennis courts doesnot work so anyone can go in and play but I only found this out after I had paid to use them and ended up in an argument with someone having a free one .Thomas cook holiday makers can use the pool cafe for a evening meal once a week free, this was very good and we enjoyed our meal but the time we were booked in was an hour before it opened !! so we sat there waiting , I told reception about all these problems but they didnt care and acted as if it was funny , wrong I think ? We paid for a taxi to and from the airport but we didnt get one , when I complained I was told that I hadn't booked with Thomas Cook eventhough we booked through their website using their booking facillity , flew on Thomas Cook airlines and had use of the Thomas Cook rep , they owe me £90 but dont take liability for this , watch out our rep was helpful and very nice but above her are not helpful at all .

This was our second holiday with Thomas Cook to this resort and this hotel. We expected a great deal from the holiday because when we first travelled there in the sp
ring (may) of 2009 we had a dream holiday. The resort lived up to all the expectations that I had of it - I went there primarily to photograph wildlife - and the hotel accommodation surpassed all our expectations.
The second time we went there was in the September of this year (2010). Nothing had changed - except the wildlife, there was a different goup of birds on autumn migration - the hotel had maintained its high standards of rooms and food. The staff were excellent, very helplful and courteous at all times.
Our departure date and time was 23.45 on the 10th of September. The Spanish general strike was due to start at midnight so anxiety all round. My wife was particularly worried because she suffers from acute sciatica and artritis and didn't want to spend a day in an airport waiting for a flight out.
When we arrived at the airport for departure we were informed that the flight had arrived early and that we were to proceed to boarding as soon as we had checked in in order for the flight to leave before the strike started. We departed at 23.35 much to the relief of all the passengers. A massive thankyou to all the staff at Thomas Cook and Palma airport for ensuring a smooth departure and saving a great deal of discomfort and frustration by us and the rest of the passengers. If this is the way Thomas Cook treats all its passengers and clients then I shall certainly book with them again. Once again, thankyou!

I have been to this hotel about 10 times in ovr the last 18 years and have always enjoyed it until this year.
Due to the recession the hotel had reduced the -
Quali
ty of the entertainment
Moved all the evening entertainment in the hotel, we come from England where the weather is poor and I like to sit out in the evening to watch entertainment. (I can sit inside back in the UK)
Reduced the number of waiters and staff - so much poorer service
Reduced the number of entertainment staff - so fewer arranged games during the day
reducing the service area in the restaurant causing large queues for a few nights until they decided to open up the other area,
They have spent a lot of money on a spa area and TVs for each room instead of spending it on better entertainment or redecorating many of the rooms that were not redecorated a few years ago when they refurbished much of the hotel.
I felt the staff including the managers were unhappy with the changes and this come over with their dealings with customers.
The entertainment and staff numbers have reduced but not the cost of the holiday. It seems false economy as the they have reduced he quality of the entertainment so guests all leave the hotel of a night and dont spend money over the bar, and even if guests stay in the hotel in the night there are few waiters to take orders..
This hotel has MANY , MANY regulars who go there every year, or even twice per year and all of these people were upset with the way the hotel is going, it would also be nice fot the hotel to just appreciate the regulars- even just a frre bottle of house wine in the dinning room .
I am not sure if the new manager has any idea on how to market or sell the hotel even in a recession.
I am not sure if I would go back to the hotel again unless I see reviews changing but love Puerto Pollensa.

Rooms not cleaned even adaquately, be prepared for ant invasions. Small, quite busy pool area. Mediocre evening entertainment, Very unfriendly staff. If you have the
misfortune to get the wrong room you can't even sit on your balcony in the evening without having to listen to at least 3 different lots of music blaring from the local bars. DO NOT bother if you are veggie unless you just want to eat salad everyday (I use the word salad loosely) food choice was minimal to say the least.

We have just come back from Hotel Pollensa Park in Puerto Pollensa. The hotel was lovely although the entertainment was not brilliant. It was a lovely stroll into th
e town and the beach was beautiful. Food in the hotel was good with lots of choice. The pool was quite busy although there were lots of sunbeds to be had you did have to queue at 9.00am to get one where you wanted. The rooms were adequate. We hade 3 in our room and we all had a proper bed which was good as we had a teenager with us. The shower in the bathroom was excellent and very powerful. The room was at the back of the hotel which was a little noisy until midnight when the music stopped and was completely quiet.
For what we paid it was an excellent choice.
My only complaint would be that the air conditioning inthe room was not very good and it did get very hot at night. Apart from that it was perfect..

This is mainly aimed at people like me who have chosen to holiday alone. Going with family and friends is great but sometimes it's nice to do your own thing without
compromise.
1. Accommodation was more than adequate, not poky little room!
2. Breakfast buffet informal but great choice (although strange scrambled egg!)
3. Reception staff quite helpful for bus routes etc. and any room requests ie. more pillows towels etc..
4. TC rep good for friendly advice re. walking alone(gave contact mobile no. in case of emergency or difficulty) and maps for solo walks
5. Facilities at hotel good as far as I was aware although I didn't really use them, saw others enjoying pool and children's entertainment. Not sure how much entertainment for adults but it was late in season.
6. Only negative, evening meals felt quite uncomfortable on my own but after two night I did approach another lone traveller and asked if they would like to join forces for dinner...that took courage! However they were delighted and the next evening we asked another lone traveller, eventually we had a table of four and thoroughly enjoyed our evening meals together. Although we had our own agenda during the day it was pleasant to discuss our outings and pass on suggestions and opinions of local attractions. Have to say dining staff seemed a little uncomfortable on how to treat ladies travelling on their own... were much more friendly when we became a'mixed' table!!!
Overall I can thoroughly recommend this hotel and I had a brilliant time, did some lovely walks, buses are good, frequent and reasonable. Got to say I did feel safe at this resort which is important when you are travelling alone.Bus stop only minutes walk away town square about 10 or 15 mins walk. Maybe the reps could suggest a table for lone travellers ..if they so wished?

This is the second time we have taken our grandchildren now aged 5 and 7 to this hotel. Everything is geared up for all family members. The pool and surrounding area
is very clean, plenty of sunbeds around the pool as well as grassed areas and there are plenty of activities for kids and adults to join in with. The food is very good and something to cater for all tastes. The family rooms are very spacious and clean. The staff are very pleasant and the variety of entertainment is fairly good with the kids disco at 8.30 each night.
The hotel is situated 5 minutes from the beach. You can walk down into the resort and marina which has plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops, which takes about fifteen/twenty minutes along the sea front. You can also get a bus, which is situated on the main road to Alcudia etc.
All in all, this is a holiday for everyone and I would strongly recommend it with or without kids - we've done both!.

having never visited puerto pollensa before, we assumed it would be similar to cala d'or and palma nova - it was much nicer. we were really taken with the great atmo
sphere of the resort, which is extremely laid back , be it daytime or evening. the resort was very busy but it never felt overcrowded. there was plenty of walking to do ( if thats what you want ), or you could just laze on the beach or sit by the pool. we tended to walk and then go to the beach, where we swam and snorkelled, which was amazing due to the clarity of the water and the abundance of fish and sea creatures.
the hotel was fine with good food and better than the average sweets, if you can't find anything to eat then you must be very fussy!!we never stayed in for the entertainment, so cannot comment on it. the hotel is in a great position, with great sea views and nice public areas. it was a lovely stroll into town, which we did most nights, and then we tended to end up at "jokers bar" which did great drinks and snacks.
one day we took the local bus to pollensa town itself and ended up climbing the 365 steps to a church at the top. the views were amazing and well worth the climb in the afternoon heat. we also took a boat trip to cala st vicente, which was great as the crew let us swim and dive off the boat in the beautiful clear blue waters. we also took the bus to alcudia for the day. however we much preferred puerto pollensa and were really glad we were staying there.
all in all we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would recommend the resort and the hotel to all ages. we will definitely be returning !!
