We picked Duva suites because we wanted a late break, all inclusive but with plenty of options for sports to do. We upgraded the room in resort because we wanted som
e more space, well worth it, the two bed apartments are excellent and very spacious. The food was buffet style but of good quality, at least four types of fish every night and excellent local beer, the house wine was drinkable as well. The staff were very friendly even after such a long season. The cocktails were from a machine (not best) as was the coffee as per previous reviewers. The only disappointment was the excellent tennis courts and soft ball courts were full most of the time and cost a significant amount to hire (the Thomas cook brochure and web site misled us on that one, as we had booked all inclusive for that reason and it wasn't included)

Duva suites is a bit out of town, but we had hired a car at the airport instead of the coach transfer so it wasn't a problem. We had a 17 year old son and need a bit
of space so upgraded to a two bedroom apartment which was excellent. The wifi was good but cost 30 euros for the week. The staff were excellent even after such a long season. The house wine and beer were good (we were all inclusive), the cocktails and coffee were from machines so were not as good. The food was buffet style but of a very good standard, the chef produced at least four fish dishes very night. The entertainment was standard with a couple of acts. The gym was ok as was the spa area, the real disappointment was that the tennis and soft ball courts were not included( even though the Thomas cook brochure and the website said they were). It was 10 to 17 euros to play, not what I expected. We are an active family and this was a big disappointment. If they sort this out we would go back.

Hotel was very clean and staff friendly and helpful. Location was further from the beach than thought but there was a hotel bus that took you there. We were all incl
usive but the apartment was well equipped for self catering. The local taxi's are very good value, only a couple of Euros more than 4 adults taking the bus from hotel to the centre of the resort. The beach is excellent and the water very clean, would recommend to anyone.

We travelled between 23/7-6/8/11(school holidays), we chose Puerto Pollensa because we have been to this resort previously. We flew with Thomas Cook and the flight f
rom Exeter was excellent, everything ran on time, the transfer at Palma airport was waiting for us and it all ran very smoothly. We arrived at the Duva Suites and were shown to our 1 bedroom apartment. We were all inclusive, the cooking facilities and space was limited if you were self catering. The hotel was clean and our rooms were serviced 6 days a week by the maid. The entertainment was good, the hotel entertainment team of Matt & Jenny had activities running most days, it wasn't a kids club the days events were split into Tots, children, teenagers and adults, in the evening they had childrens disco and family bingo. The swimming pool was OK, very deep in the main pool but it does have a childrens section. The tiles around the pool became very slippy when wet, I had a number of near misses but my son hurt himself on a number of occasions as did others. There was also the sun lounger towel reserving problem first thing in the morning, the hotel staff did occasionally walk around removing towels if beds were reserved before 9am unless some-one was sat with them, this caused a few unfortunate confrontations. The food was OK, better the first week than the second, it was buffet self service. As a 4 star I would expected filtered coffee or fresh tea for breakfast but it was all out of a machine which was poor quality. As All Inclusive guests we were treated differently to those paying at the bar, there was no Sangria unless you paid for it, any cocktails for AI guests were out of a mixing machine and tasted disgusting, but if you paid you get a cocktail made with real stuff, coffee again for AI was out of a machine but again if you paid it was fresh filter coffee. I think the Hotel needs to recognise that AI means you have paid in advance not that you are getting it for free! For AI guests the snacks during the day consisted of a ham & cheese sandwich or a croissant, a little limiting. We caught the bus to the beach (the far end away from the centre) which is free for AI guests, it runs until 1200hrs but only picks up at 5pm, with a young family I do not want to be on the beach all day.Unfortunately on our penultimate day we discovered that our hotel room had been burgled, no forced entry to the apartment and a very tidy search. I went to reception to report this to find that a further 2 apartments on the same floor had also been burgled. This matter was reported to the Police which took most of the day.The Duva apartments are located a good 20 minute walk way from the town centre, it did put you off going into Puerto Pollensa.Even before we had our room burgled I would not have recommended this hotel, it is not a 4 star but an ok 3 star, I would have expected better. We will return to Puerto Pollensa but to a different hotel nearer to the beach and resort centre.

First time visitor to Mallorca.
Puerto Pollensa is a nice resort although entertainment is predominantly Hotel based.
The Duva is only a short walk (15 mins) from th
e Town and has Bars/Shops close by.
Facilities are very good with indoor pool, spa, gym, sauna & steam room.
Travelled on a self catering holiday but sampled buffet on 2 occasions with no complaints. However Restaurants along Pine Walk are fabulous and well worth a visit.
Entertainment Team at Duva worth a mention as they kept kids entertained throughout the day.
Would definitely return.

The Duva suites is a very good hotel, with friendly staff, very good food and comfortable accommodation. The entertainment staff also work really hard to make everyb
ody's stay enjoyable. The only thing that lets this hotel down is that they haven't really taken on board the concept of "all inclusive" in this first year they have offered the option. Drinks included would be a better description. Although there was plentiful, good quality, buffet style food at the designated meal times, outside of this food was not openly provided, and indeed no sign of the supposedly offered tea and cakes each afternoon. We also felt a bit miffed at being asked to pay 30 Euros for weekly internet access, which is available freely for most hotels we have stayed at, and in lots of cybercafes. Surprisingly there is no entertainment on a saturday, and also the maid service on sunday is by request only. (more like a good 3 star than a 4 star hotel)
I wouldn't be put off by these quibbles, but people booking might take note.

My husband and I read the reviews and saw that it was supposed to be 900km away from town/beach. we would walk alot so didnt think it would matter. The beach is more
like 1.5km walk and when you walk it 4 or 5 times a day it feels alot longer. Ended up getting a taxi back in the evenings (5 euro from taxi rank). There is a nicer/shorter walk if you cross at the DUVA round about and take the road beside the white rose restaurant/bar - and just keep heading straight - brings you out at beach. Bus to Alcudia was very cheap and regular. Dont shop at the spar across the road from the DUVA as rip off prices. there is a larger shop at the 2nd round about when heading towards town on the left - locals shop here and very good prices - water is def cheaper but def feels heavier by the time you get back to apartment. We had asked for a quiet room on top floor and got a really lovely room overlooking the ponds - also very quiet and peaceful. had a few problems with the apartment - 2 lights not working in our apart but didnt bother us and we didnt report, also radio in bedroom was faulty - didnt work but had faulty wiring so you could hear quiet muffled music at night time. Cleaners were very nice and called every other day for beds and again for towels but very pleasant. All in all we had a brilliant time.

We really enjoyed staying at the Duva and will be going back again. We loved the outdoor and indoor pools and other spa facilities and the staff were always friendly
and helpful. The apartment was a generous size, was comfortable and was kept spotless by the attentive cleaning staff. The self catering facilities were basic (no oven or grill) but were adequate for what we used them for. The Duva is partcularly welcoming to cyclists and has good facilities such as secure bike storage and decent hire facilities on site. It's only a 10 minute walk to the big supermarket and a further 5-10 minutes in to the centre of Puerto Pollensa and the beach, marina, restaurants and cafes. Puerto Pollensa is a lovely place to stay and the Duva was an excellent base from which to explore the area.

Booked last minute so got a great deal, we have stayed at Duva before so knew exactly what we were getting.
Booked because of the Gym and the indoor pool, in case of
bad weather.
Great location, a pleasant walk down to the Town with a very good Supermarket (Euroski) 5 minutes away.
Only complaint was the FREE WiFi mentioned in the brochure and available 2 years ago now costs 50 euro a week, very dissappointing.

Puerto Pollensa is a beautiful, low key, family resort. Duva impressed us but it is NOT in Puerto Pollensa. It is very much on the outskirts. Without children it wou
ld take only 10-15mins to walk down the busy and far from scenic road to the marina which is where you want to get to for beach and eating out in the evenings. It takes twice as long with small children and beach gear. We opted to take the bus and stump up 2 euros 10 for a family of four (2 kids under 5) which gets you there in 5 minutes. We didn't mind that but maybe you'd want to be right in the resort if you plan to do the beach every day. We were also glad we went self catering as we tried the hotel restaurant on our first night and the food was pretty dire. That said, the hotel was exceptionally friendly, comfortable (we had 2 bed apartment) and cleaned every day - beds made, new towels etc. The pool area was nice and there's lots of entertainment for children by day and adults in the evenings if you like that sort of thing. Overall we loved it.
