Fair holiday but would NOT go back
Been there for a week at this hotel, room clean, pool good, activities for young good, AS FOR FOOD BELOW AVERAGE, SOME NIGHTS WE COULD NOT EAT ANYTHING It came to "for what we are about to receive" . No variety at all, would recommend going self catering and buying your own food. Staff friendly, but not enough at bar area, 5 or six collecting glasses and 2 serving with long queue. Definitely not a 4 star Hotel. This should definitely be looked into and lower star rating. Internet wifi medioca. Also would like to add not good having case missing and going to another hotel and arriving with what you have on,

Good family hotel for first timers
First off we loved the Hotel Paraiso, the staff & facilities were brilliant and the weather was fantastic too.
Our Son has a severe nut allergy and we had taken a translation of the facts in Portuguese to show the Staff and they were really helpful and advised us as to which dishes he could eat which was around 95%.
The room & pool area were both of good standard & kept lovely & clean.
The transfer from the airport was quoted as 45-60 minutes but took in excess of 90 minutes! Far too long after a days travelling, especially when the driver actually passed the end of our road to takes us up into the countryside for 2 people to be dropped off, when there were 10 people including youngsters for the Paraiso. On the way home the drive to airport took 35 minutes!
Apart from this and the fact that the all inclusive didn't include the activities as advertised, all was fantastic. The "Entertainment" in the evenings was directed at children under 10 so our teenagers were slightly bored until the entertainment was moved down into another bar on the Thursday, as the Hotel had taken in more guests so the upper bar was used for the more mature guests. The local entertainers were of good quality and we enjoyed watching the display dancers.
I would recommend this as a first time or younger children resort. The bus was available 4 times a day to take us down & back to the old town, very hilly place so I would recommend using this, especially with pushchairs etc, the Old Town was beautiful & the locals were extremely friendly, the beach was lovely & clean with markers indicating boats etc.
The price was slightly inflated in our opinion probably because it was half term, but if you are able to go in term time it would probably be better value.
Lastly our Rep recommended Doplhins Driven. Go on this trip it is amazing!

Overall the hotel and services were very good
I've just been to the Paraiso de Albufeira and had a very enjoyable holiday. Staff were great, room was a good size and quite spacious, facilities were very good and everywhere was clean.
The only problem I have is with the quality of the food. Breakfast time food was good with plenty on offer and everyone in my family looked forward to this meal time.
However, the lunch and evening meals were a different matter. Both a lack of choice and serious lack of quality were are regular theme during our 10 day stay. There was no food freshly cooked for guests by chefs as I've had during multiple other holidays, everything was buffet style served in dishes. The majority of the time the meat was dry and over cooked to the extent were it was difficult to chew. The choice of deserts were exactly the same throughout my stay.
One aspect of the evening meal which I liked was when my wife and I ordered a glass of wine we were provided with a small bottle between us. It was local wine but of descent quality and always came chilled. For the last few days evening meals were moved down to floor C. Here the wine was provided by tap in a jug and not chilled (room temperature) and quite honestly wasn't drinkable.
I don't like basing my review on a negative as mostly everything the hotel done was to a very good standard but paying for the all inclusive package was quite expensive and as the lunch and evening meals were of such poor standard it unfortunately had an impact on our overall holiday. I hope as the season picks up the standard of food improves with it.

Fantastic family holiday in Portugal
We stayed in the Paraiso for last two weeks in October , I have to say we were a bit sceptical after reading the reviews etc. But I have to say the place is fantastic, apartment was really lovely and spotless cleaned everyday. We did stay self catering so cannot comment on the food but there are so many places nearby that serves great food. Location is great a short walk into the old town and the same if you want the strip. I have to say the entertainment team Lee, Jordan, Miguel and Steph very entertaining. Cant wait to go again

Good family holiday
Had a nice family holiday.
The actual hotel and apartments are a bit tired and could do with a lick of paint. Things like lifts not working, stair doors not opening and hall light bulbs out where a bit annoying.
Our room view looked out over the loading bay which wasnt good.
Overall a nice apartment, but not sure its 4 star accommodation.
Good location between albufeira old town and the new town "strip" area.
Transfers back to airport at end of holiday unnaceptable - 2 hour transfer for a 40 minute journey is a joke!

Thomas Cook Sun star entertainment team and kids club made this hotel for us
Self catering studio for 2 plus 5 yr old. Camp bed needs renewed. Studios have road/car park view but this did not ruin our holiday. Pings Doce for provisions (also Modelo) but hotel shop is fine although tad more expensive for water and things. We had a great holiday. Sure the kitchen needs a bit of a revamp but we only used it for breakfast. Used the buffet service on evening of arrival for convenience. V disappointed and expensive. Could get a fillet steak elsewhere for same price so we didn't eat in the hotel again. Lots of great places to eat in Old Town and strip. La brigate, clay oven, big shanghai, el rancho. special mention to Pasteleria Marinela on the main road, next to Modelo - great snack menu and best toasties ever!
Thomas cook entertainment team in hotel were amazing and worked so hard all day and nite - kudos to Lee,Jordan, Miguel and Steph. my son loved Dizzy & Splash Disco and also enjoyed the kids club too and loved the Chocolate Party.
Any complaints I heard were from All Inclusive holiday makers saying food was not great and some of whom wanted to make sure they got more than their money's worth from the bar. Needs more evening bar staff to manage the queues.

Brilliant Holiday At Paraiso De Albufeira
We had a brilliant holiday at the Paraiso, very clean hotel, staff are very friendly, the entertainers around the pool were all really nice and were good fun.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone, we are looking at booking to go back there next year. We had the best of both worlds with easy access to both the new and old town although the walk back from the old town is up hill so beware, although its not much in a taxi ride or you can catch the train that runs every 20 mins or so.
The pool is big with a separate small childs pool, crazy golf if you found laying on a sun lounger all day just too much!!! The weather was brilliant...
