Excellence at the Excellence Riviera Maya!
What a fantastic holiday! Apart from the fact that the flight was delayed six hours flying out to Cancun. The whole transport to and from the resort was easy and made the trip more enjoyable. The hotel and resort was perfect, we loved the food, so much choice and all of it tasted so good, with 8 restaurants, no chance of getting bored. The staff were so friendly, they could not do enough for us, even cooking us a special lobster dish, not on the menu! The staff are all happy in their work, this is reflected in the atmosphere of the resort. we tipped the staff 20 pesos for drinks food etc, it seemed the least we could do, and they deserved it, they work so hard. The room was spotless, the little extras such as the turn down service, was lovely. The free mini bar was great, although with the free cocktails, we found we did not delve into it much. The French restaurant was our favourite, but all of them were very good indeed. The live shows at night were very good, very entertaining. The grounds were immaculate with workers out all the time keeping everything tidy. We found no fault with this resort at all! we will return again, in fact we are booking it for our daughter's honeymoon!

Great for couples
What a great location, just as good as the photos. Excellent range of food and quality in its selection of restaurants.the staff were excellent in serving our every need and nothing was ever too much trouble. From housekeeping/bell boys to management the attention to detail was the best we have ever received and always given with a smile. We will be going back.

Excellent hotel with drawbacks which spoilt it a bit
The no reservations in restaurants does not mean you can turn up and eat when you like - if you are not early when they open or after 9 pm then you will be wait listed and given a beeper to call you when table ready. Twice we had to give up and go to the Indian which was the only one easily available. Shame because quality in all was very good.
Usual towels on sun beds especially on the beach - in two weeks did not get one once!! There are plenty of quite spots around pool with sun beds.
The snorkelling is not accessible from the beach it is a 40$ boat ride away!!

great holiday at the excellence riviera cancun.
the excellence riviera cancun fantastic.
it was the wife`s birthday and our wedding anniversary,there was two swans made out of towels and a red rose between the two rose petals on the bed.
when we went down for the meal there was a heart made out of rose petals.
the choice of food was fantastic as was the resort.
it was right on the beach and always the sun beds were readily available.
every where was spotless,the staff could not do enough for you.
fantastic place would go back anytime.

Adult only fantastic resort hotel
Difficult to find a fault with this hotel and the staff who are incredibly courteous and always ready to please .
Choice of restaurants in hotel all good , and near enough to walk along the beach to the small village of puerto morelos (40 mins )
The Spa is incredible ,with a hydrotherapy area . All inclusive means all inclusive with a wide variety of international branded drinks .

Fantastic hotel and staff but.............
We stayed for 2 weeks in January 2014 for our honeymoon, we cannot fault the hotel, the staff or the food. We opted to pay a bit extra to stay in the Excellence Club and the view from our balcony was worth the extra money on it's own. It's the best all inclusive package we have ever had where everything is included from the 8 a al carte restaurants to the mini bar in the room which was restocked on a daily basis.
The down side, the vast majority of the other guests in the hotel were Americans on short breaks who's sole purpose was to throw as much alcohol down there necks as quickly as possible (from 9am) and then send the rest of the day making a nuisance of themselves either on the beach or around the pools. They were not aggressive in anyway, just very noisy and had no regard for other people who were there to chill out and relax. If it's peace and quiet your after, stay away.
Don't use the hotel shop, it was 5x more expensive for the same products you could buy at shops a short walk along the beach. Don't use the cashpoint in the hotel, we were charged $35 just for using it.
Finally and most disappointingly, the transfer back to the airport at the end of the holiday (arranged by Thomas Cook) which only had 6 guests on the same flight as we were on, dropped us at the terminal, the driver jumped out and had a conversation with a local "taxi driver", unloaded and bags and drove of at speed, once inside the terminal we discovered he had dropped us at the wrong terminal and on going back outside we were met with the local "taxi driver" who demanded $30 each to take us to the right terminal.

a wedding party
venue for wedding excellent. accommodation very good in fact I can not find a complaint as it was a very well organised hotel and would definately go again.
