Fantastic holiday for all!
Cant praise the hotel enough, air-conditioned throughout, rooms clean and tidy, good food, helpful staff, only 2 mins walk to square, and 5 mins from the port, my young daughter loved it, my aunt loved it as did I., was such a relaxing place to be, and I would recommend the Almalfi drive, absolutely stunning views. Can't wait to go back.

Holiday & Sisters Wedding
Visit - 19th June to 26th June 2012
Forgot to do this earlier, but must mention what a fantastic holiday & accommodation this was.
Sorrento itself is superb and unusually for me a place I desire to go back to at some point, particularly the evening wanders on the pedestrianised roads of the Corsa Italia, and trips out to such amazing famous and historic places.
Hotel is towards the back of town, but Sorrento is not big and is literally 3 to 5 mins walk from the main street and the centre of town (if anything, it is a better location than many other higher priced hotels), our room had an amazing sea view - if you can, ask to be at the front, there is a road to the back, it is not terrible as still a nice view of the hills, but if they have rooms, best go to the front and a few floors up, we were 5th floor - sunsets were gorgeous.
Very helpful and polite reception staff - knowledgeable of the area. Hotel is very clean, towels and bedding were changed every day of the 7 night stay - had an amazing cold meats, salad and cheese platter in the room on arrival (much needed as late arrival was anticipated) - cleaning maids were lovely and (We'll admit it here, we were caught using the mini bar to cool our own beer (once only - there is a technique) - very discreet - never said a word).
Good (and free) air conditioning ensured good nights sleep every night.
Stayed Half Board - food is not the best of Italian, but both myself and my friend really enjoyed it and were not hungry or disappointed - though fill up on the starter, these are bigger than the mains and is typical of the area. Waiters were lovely, so much so my friend decided she would if she could take one home!
Pool (on the roof) is small but functional, hardly used, fantastic view and decent reasonably priced bar and snacks - used mainly in the evenings to cool off before evening meal - a Godsend in the height of summer.
Although not hotel related – On the way home Thomas Cook airlines sorted us out well following a potentially nightmarish evening. Whilst for reasons we understand beyond their control they had contracted Air Finland to do our flight, they went bust on the day of return travel. Cutting a long story short, they managed to pull in one of their own aircraft and off duty flight and cabin crew to take out the next holidaymakers and bring us back. Yes there was a delay, but we got home, the reps stayed with us, got airport food vouchers and everyone a free meal on the aircraft. Even Car Park at Manchester did not charge me any extra, presume they must have known.
All in all – excellent.

Great hotel and holiday in Sorrento
I recently spent a week at the Ceasare Augsto hotel (210912 to 280912) with my mum. The hotel location couldn't be better, after reading previous reviews we asked for a quiet room and were allocated 505. Great views of the bay of Naples and the town and away from the main road. The staff at the hotel couldn't do enough for you. The hotel itself is a bit old fashioned, however, it is exceptionally clean and the 'faded grandeur' adds to its charms. Our room was large and airy with a good sized balcony. Yes the tv isn't flat screen, but there was so much to do there wasn't time to watch tv! Breakfast is your typical contiential variety, with a choice of scrambled or hard bolied eggs and either sausages or bacon(not like those we have back in the Uk, ha ha). There was a choice of 4 starters and main meals for the evening meal. Some nights were a bit better than others, but all more than edible. Bar was reasonably priced for a hotel.

First time in Italy. Hotel staff very friendly. Perfect location in centre of Sorrento. Ideal for sightseeing. Train station only 5 minute walk away making it easy to visit Pompeii and Herrculanium. Would love to return to the hotel Ceasare Augusto.

Sorrento for Sights
We stayed half board in the Hotel Cesare Augusto, and could not have chosen a better place to stay. It is located right in the centre just a very short walk from all the attractions, and less than a stones throw away from the bus and rail terminals. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff very friendly and helpful, and the food (waiter service) was very good with a good choice of menu. To be honest I realy cannot find any faults at all with the place, and we have travelled extensively. I highly recomend staying there.
