Why Go

With its huge beach and array of restaurants and bars, Laganas is the place to head for those who like to enjoy a sociable, bustling seafront resort. Accommodation in Laganas covers all the bases, too, with cheap and cheerful apartments rubbing shoulders with 5 star hotels - but, essentially, whatever your accommodation in Laganos, you won't be spending an awful lot of time indoors. Not when there's so much to explore in your resort.

Flights to Zante arrive not too far away from Laganas - one of the most popular resorts on the island, mainly due to its beach stretching for nearly two miles, with non-stop activities for those who like them, and comfy sun beds for those who prefer to be horizontal when it's hot. Bars get packed at sunset and clubbing in Laganas starts when the sun goes down then simply never ends. The water park opened on the island in summer 2003 and there is a plethora of other leisure activities to keep the family happy.

Most clubs on Zante do not charge for entry, meaning on your night out on the town you can wander freely from one rockin' bar to another without putting a big dent in your money belt. The clubs on Zante love visitors so much that some bars give away a free shot with every beer. The main streets of Zakynthos are lined solid with bars, restaurants, English-style pubs, clubs and music bars. This is certainly the place for a 24-hour party crew.
