Green Bay Hotel is a fairly new building, lying next to the sea in Karavimilos-Sami, near the cave-lake of Melissani. Sami is situated in the centre of Kefalonia Island, world famous for its natural beauty.
Comprising a five well-designed buildings housing 24 studios, perfect for two to three people, and eight apartments for three to four people, the fully air-conditioned rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated.
All rooms enjoy panoramic views of the sea, are en-suite, and come fully equipped with a hairdryer, telephone, colour TV, kitchenette and spacious veranda. Guests at Green Bay are met with a welcoming reception and beautiful gardens, and they can take a swim in the saltwater swimming pool, enjoy a drink in the cafeteria or a delicious snack in the poolside snack bar.
Other facilities include a TV lounge and a large breakfast room. The town of Sami is very charming and is home to a long waterfront, lined with shaded restaurants and tavernas serving the locally caught fish if the day.
Along the harbour, there are many boats bobbing in the clear blue water, along with an array of sand and shingle beaches hugging the coastline. The Melissani Lake; a crystal clear turquoise lake surrounded by amazing stalactites and the Drodarati caves are in close proximity of Sami, the setting where most of the filming for the famous Captain Corelli's Mandelin and well worth a visit.

Studios (sleeping up to 3 adults) have individually–controlled air conditioning (local charge payable)‚ TV (local channels)‚ fridge‚ cooking rings‚ shower room and a balcony. Prices are based on 2 or 3 adults sharing on Self Catering. Studios for sole use are available at a supplement Apartments sleep up to 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children‚ (cot possible) and have same facilities as above with a separate living area. Green Bay was somewhat remote and a car is definitely needed, as taxis were expensive. Accommodation was basic, but clean and well serviced, and staff were pleasant [more...]
