Finikounda Hotel OMG
Just got back from 2 weeks in Finikounda. No Rep. in Resort, which is fine if you had been before, but we had not.
Hotel in need of a total refurbishment. Towels and linen could have been changed more often, and the quality was poor, and some towels had holes in them. Reception not manned. No one to arrange car hire, they tell you to go to Pilos.
Breakfast at Tera Mare down the road, very basic, tea or coffee, squash or water, bread, jam, honey, cake or croissant. Could have varied a bit.
The Church is right next to the Hotel, so the bells, which is a recording, on loud speaker, are very loud. Sometime going off at 6.30 in the morning.
Would definitely not stay there again.

Firstly we were disappointed with Thomas Cook and their 15KG luggage allowance, far below those of other airlines travelled with, which was not explained clearly for internet bookings.
Whilst having seen the hotel in our previous trips to Finikounda we were disappointed with room size, bathroom facilities and the number of flys in the room which meant we had to buy fly killer to eradicate. The maid service was very good and the hotel staff extremely friendly.
on arrival we requested a room change and the rep advised at that time not available that as we were
there for two weeks would look for the folllowing week and never came back to us. Hired a car which whilst unsure was not road worthy had constant airbag warnings, which the company advised were not a problem, lots of scratches and dents - car hire arranged by rep so would have expected a rreputable company to have been used. It appeared that English tourists were given the rooms ground ffloor, no view and closest to the road - noise levels of motor bikes/dustbin lorries waking you in the middle of the night.

Holiday getaway in Greece
Hotel is basic and dated. check in at the hotel not brilliant, and some days there was no hot water after 4pm. Most TV's didn't work.Rooms are small and the views are not great. However beds were made and the rooms were cleaned every day. Staff, especially the cleaner were helpful, and the big plus was free aircon. Hotel was central to all shops and tavernas, and close to the Church and supermarket.Breakfast was at a bar on the beachfront which was a lovely setting, also friendly service, and although only bread/cake/jam and honey the quantity was enough. The sunbeds infront of the bar on the beach were free - another plus.
Rep was nice and helpful, but was only in resort one day a week for an hour or so, which was not enough, if you wanted to speak to her you had to phone, and the payphone was phonecard only.Alltogether the holiday was good value for money taking into account free aircon and sunbeds.
