Perfect Family Holiday
Perfect for a young family. The pools are great and the food is lovely- they have something for everyone and do theme nights 3 times a week (Fish, Greek & Italian).
The entertainment was good for the kids- it was not in English very often and we did feel it was aimed more at the foreign guests but the kids could not tell the difference and danced away learning all the moves!
The beach was small but lovely, the sea was very shallow and the beach was well maintained and cleaned frequently. There was a bigger beach further down the road if you wanted to venture out.
Rooms were pretty basic but clean and had everything you needed. The bathroom was lovely and tiled- we also had a bath which is great when you have children!
Would recommend the train trip which pulls up outside the Stella Village every 30 mins or so and it takes you into Hersonissis via a scenic route. A great way to see this part of the island.
Over all a great holiday, would definitely go back and would recommend it to anyone with small children.
The only downside was that there was not much to do outside the hotel- a few hidden (and empty) bars lined the side streets so it may not be an ideal holiday if you have younger adults with you who may like to venture outside the hotel during the evening.
Miss this place so much and can't stop looking through my photos!

It was a good holiday but could be improved from the hotel side of things
Just come back (end of June 2013) Positives were the grounds and the layout were great, pools, ecpecially the kids pirate ship pool were fantastic. Thomas Cook Kids Club exceeded our expectations when they delivered a birthday present for our 4 year old. Mini Club (the hotel kids club) was also good with a disco everynight for the kids. you are allowed 1 visited to their asain restraunt foc which was really nice and would recommend.
The negatives were definatley the choices of food for the toddlers and we struggled every day but one when they put chicken nuggets and fish fingers on. They did not even do ice cream for their dessert. Water was an issue, they dont do bottled water as like other all inclusives I have been to in the past just water dispenced in a cup, when we asked the waiters and bar staff we were told it was just tap water (which our rep had already advised us not to drink) so we ended up buying bottled water from the shop. Restraunt service also was poor in a few areas such as 1 jug of milk for the cereal table which was in the kitchen more than it was on the table, 1 coffee machine with huge queues, and slow waiter/ess service who were needed to get your drinks as there were not readily available like other all inclusives I been to.
The cups they used for the drinks were quite small and only filled them 3/4's full so it was many trips to the bar during the daytime. Which leads me on to the service... bar service appaulled me, mainly night time, they left you stood there ages while they chatted, they never served in any order. Communication was not great, I found that the cleaners communicated better than the receptinist, bar staff and entertainment team put together.
As already said tho lovely hotel but not much arround it... nice hotel beach and rock pools a bit further up, we did get the road train to the port which was a nice day out and did notice something called Star Beach which was a lovely looking water type park for the younger kids FOC entry too but we ran out of time to go.
I also read Free Wifi in reception but it wasnt free.....

Third return to Stella Palace - Crete
Our holidays at Stella Palace near the village of Analipsi have been perfect for us with our disabled son of 23. The hotel itself, the proximity to the beach and village, and trips to Hersonissos, allow us to rest when we need to and explore when we want too.
The reception area is modern, bright, and the staff are very friendly and efficient. We find the restaurant is well run and we always enjoy the menus. The visits to the a la carte ELIA restaurant are always a pleasure. The pools are lovely for our son and are always very clean.
Each time we have been we have found the Thomas Cook representatives very helpful if we have needed advice about coaches or the airport and this year Jason was no exception. Stella Palace really does provide every thing we need for a great holiday.

excellent family hotel
stayed from 18th september until 2nd october 2012.
we had a range of ages in our party from 18 months to 75 years! the hotel accomodated all our needs, from peace and quiet to lively and entertaining, the grandchildren had plenty of choice of pools, the pirate ship pool is a little dated but jack didnt care, he thought it was "awesome", as was everything else to him. the entertainment team are so friendly and make you feel special, they remember your names and sit for a chat when they have time, they do this with all the holiday makers, in fact, all the staff from the cleaning team to the management are very approachable and will help in any way they can.
right down to the nitty gritty,......
drinks : limited to cocktail of the day, cheap brandy, white rum, vodka, tequila, and some others (cant remember....too many cocktails of the day !!) served until 11pm, then you can buy international brands from about 5 euro. Nikos is very particular of his cocktail making and serves them to you with great pride.
food : breakfast, loved having fruit with greek yoghurt and honey.......... plenty of breads ( croisants, chocolate ones too rolls and pastries)eggs any way you like, bacon, all the stuff you want, help yourself to tea and coffee and juices.
lunch, all the salad stuff you can imagine, cheeses, (feta is amazing), hot plates of stews and sliced meats, and gyros (kebab) in the grill room, plus loads more.
dinner, great choice, people who say its repetitive are the ones who put a bit of everything on one plate, if you eat as you would at home with one meat and some veg, then you get a different choice every day.........simples! italian night is amazing as is the fish night.......massive choice of seafoods, greek night is also a good time to try the local quisine, if your not sure what things are then the serving staff will explain.
rooms : served their purpose, very clean, spacious and all are pool facing, which is a bonus for no extra charges! i would say, if you have elderly family with you, maybe request a ground floor room on arrival as there are quite a few steps to 1st floor accomodation, but its only built on 2 levels, my two 75 year old managed them each day.
pools : plenty to choose frrom and they have gradual slopes in (30 cm depth to step into), all have a bar near them , but the second pool has a swim up bar.........very cool, sipping drinks in the water while i WATCHED the aqua aerobics! the stella village and palace merge into one another and some have said the stella village is a litlle scruffy, i didnt find this, in fact , if you want to really chill out, these are the quietest pools., no problems getting sun loungers, even for 12 of us we were all near to each other ( when we wantd to be)
towels are paid for at reception 5 euro each then can be changed every couple of days, money refunded at end of holiday.
all in all , a brilliant time with friendly staff and lovely friends were met, very accomodating.
been in many 4* hotels and all are of similar standard abroad, what do you expect for the price we pay, try getting an all inclusive holiday with transport (flight) in the uk for the price you pay for 2 weeks abroad, in my opinion its amazing value for money

Superb Hotel Excellent for Famlies.
Stayed at the Stella Palace from the 11th to 25th Sept with my wife and 3 children aged 1, 3 and 17. We stayed in room 607 which was opposite the top end of the top pool. Room was good and clean. We had a 2 bedroom room with a double in one and 2 singles in the other. A travel cot was supplied for our smaller one which was a hard to sleep on. Towels are changed daily and linen every other day. Lovely outside deck area with lovely furniture.
The grounds of the hotel are lovely and the pools are the best I have encountered. Plenty of sunbeds although poolside ones do have to be reserved early. Also for a €5 deposit the hotel will supply a beach towel that can be exchanged every other day. We used the top pool as this was quieter than the middle pool which had loud dance music playing all day. Also the middle pool was where most activities took place. Shallow end of the pool is 30cm and had a very gradually slope and was perfect for our little ones to play in. The childrens pool at the bottom our boys loved and was fine and clean.
Food is excellent and I don’t understand one review saying the choice is average. At dinner there is a choice of 12 options at the hotplate, 3 -4 pots which would contain stews or casseroles which were gorgeous, pizza freshly baked, a meat grill , fresh pasta, soup and a large salad station. The desserts are to die for and have to be seen to be believed. The only grumble would be the children’s selection but our smaller 2 ate from the normal choices every night happily. Having stayed at a Sensatori resort earlier in the year I’d rate the food at the Stella above this. The theme nights of Greek, Italian and fish were very very good. Lunchtimes were just as good but the choice was more limited but I loved the Gyros or grilled meat and salad. Breakfast choice was unreal with everything you can think of being offered. Loved the fresh doughnuts and nutella!
The drinks supplied on the all inclusive were good and we had no complaints. I’d recommend trying the cocktails as at €5 these were excellent. Also you’ll find cakes, coffee, rolls and ice cream at the bar areas during the day. Good choice of different flavours and tasted great. Also you can buy a ‘proper’ coffee here.
The only evening entertainment we went to was the kids mini disco which our smaller two loved although the music was of an international flavour. The Thomas Cook kids club disco went down a storm with them and the guys are a credit to Thomas Cook as was the rep Jason.
Analipsi itself is a little run down but there is a nice selection of shops and bars and is worth a walk around.
We’ll be returning next year.

We went as a family but met up with a group of friends for a wedding who were staying at the same facility. All I can say is thank you , Thomas Cook for finding this gem, thankyou Jason and gemma the Thomas Cook reps, nothing was too much too ask. Thank you to the Stella Palace staff who were hard working, always helpfull and service was so good. Especailly Georgios and Giannos at the top pool bar.
We only went for a week but regret not going for longer, brilliant facilities , although be warned the rooms are comfortable, but not 5 star . Overall maybe the whole complex rates a 3.5 - 4 star in english money but for what you get it by no means falls short.

Had a lovley holiday
The Kidsworld Team was fantastic. My 3 year old son enjoyed his time spent with kids club, they did a great job of running activities and being there for him. Solomon did not want to come home at all! Thanks again to all.
The accomodation was very good and the complex was very well kept and very clean. The food was average. Pools were great for little ones to play in and I would go back.
