Mosquito Nightmare in Corfu
Hotel was fabulous but did nothing about the presence of mosquitos. Rep ignored our complaints, told us to buy a candle . Obviously we know they can not stop them, but hotel ignores the problem, many people had serious bites which had to been seen by a Doctor, and also required injections. I have been on anti-biotics for 10 days since my return due to bites being infected.
HOTEL MUST TAKE NOTICE AND PROVIDE PRECAUTIONS, or they will lose customers, although it was a beautiful setting, we would never ever return due to the mosquitoes, or would many of the people at our hotel who we met around the pool. Rep was a young girl who had heard it all before by her lack of interest in the problem.
First two nights of the holiday we had to go back to our room to get away from the mosquitoes, but then it was spoiling our holiday, so we braved it.

Well what can i say first!!!!!!!!! Thomas Cook organized everything to perfection, flights, transfers. As for holiday it was the best i ever had.Corfu it's an amazing place and it doesn't matter where you stay it will offer everything you will be looking for a perfect holiday, but to be honest me and my girlfriend were surprised with Mare Blue Resort.Guaranty clean and warm sea, amazing view of Albania mountains, friendly waiters who work very hard and with a smile on their faces, quiet, quality sleep, cleanliness! Just Ignore the bad reviews because we should accept there are some people in this world who love moaning for anything.Yes there are some problems, not very friendly receptionist(Aphrodite) mosquito( get some repellent you'll need it for about 2 hours in evening if you go by the pool) but these problems are nothing compare with what this place will give you.Hire a car (corfucarforhire is a good company) and go travel around Corfu, i promise those amazing views you will remember for long time.Boat trip to wonderful Albania is a must ,Kayaki boat trip is wonderful..Thomas Cook organized it for us and we went to Theo's boat and we had fun..BBQ,wine,dance, if you'r lucky you will see dolphins swimming around the boat. Thoma Cook representatives is the boat were wonderful( i remember only Jasmine's name sorry) and Christina in Mare Blue was lovely but over all Barbara who was with us for the transfer back to airport was very helpful. She heard me arguing with Aphrodite(because she said in Greek that i was telling lies for a lost key ,little she knew that i could speak Greek) and she said that it will help me to complain to her managers, which i didn't bother but at least she offered her help.over this was the best holiday of my life!!!!!!!!!!

nice break in corfu
Rep transfer to hotel was poor.. no interaction what so ever!
Hotel itself I'm told had recently changed management: revamped so most things fresh and tidy.
Meals were more than satisfactory: stayed AI can not complain.
The location itself is quite rural, which was nice for us, as wanted just a relaxing break.
Weather was unpredictable.. but that's out of everyone's hands.
Overall stay was good.
Once again transfer home was nothing short of a shambles..
Corfu airport is just not equipped for the amount of flights departing within such close proximity of one another. Reps hadn't a clue what was going on let alone us mere passengers..
We ended up checking in as we were being called for final boarding!!! .. no chance of duty free let alone refreshments!

Superb get away from it all!
This trip was everything I wanted and more! We chose to have a restfull get away from it all short break in the sun. It was just that, lovely location though not close to many other amenities but suited us perfectly. It was very clean and the staff were great five star!
The more was some pretty bad mozie bites! i've never had a problem with them before but here they were feirce maybe due to the nature reserve next door. Citronella and some bite therapy worked wonders though.

week's all inclusive
Transfer took about 2 hours, winding roads, husband was physically sick on arrival, despite having taken travel sickness pills, he was not the only person to be suffering this way. As a result of this we did not book any trips as we did not want to have a repetition of this journey. In fact we considered trying to get a return transfer to the airport by boat!
Beds were comfortable, TV in room, would have liked tea/coffee making facilities. Would also have liked bathroom mat for safety reasons.
Swimming pool looked nice but the water was freezing, the sea was warmer. The animations team person who tried to interest me in aqua gym was on a hiding to nothingI
The food was good, althougth there was a lot of variation on the pork stifado theme! We could always find something we liked from what was on offer. And there was always plenty. The feta cheese was the best I have ever tasted.
There was no evening entertainment at all & the resort was miles from anywhere. OK so it was end of season.
The worst thing of all was the mosquitoes.

much needed break
Blue Bay Escape resort was a very well run hotel and our room was cleaned every day ..No local places within walking distance. But we have to say..for the older persons, there was not really anywhere to sit comfortably during the day to have coffee/teas/soft drinks and a chat.....away from the pool area and noise during the day.Had to go to poolside restaurant to get a drink.....tea/coffee help yourself, only silly plastic cups to put it in and no nice part of the gardens to take your drinks etc away from the bathers and bustle. PS. beware of the mosquitoes !!
Great all inclusive hotel for the younger families I feel...but not for us.

celebration of passing degrees
We absolutely loved our holiday at the Blue Bay Escape. The accomodation was in an apartment type which had a lounge area, good sized bedroom and bathroom. Very clean and maid every day. The food was served in the main restaurant for brekkie and dinner, lunch was at the bar by the pool. Excellent food, buffet style, couldnt fault waiter service, brill. The pool was clean and no prob getting a sun bed in September. The entertainement was provided by three people mainly, Boris, Chrissie and Evo, my goodness they never stopped, water polo, aqua airobics and much more. In the evening it was bingo and a show, dont expect the show to be like the West End, but the hard work and effort put in by the team was exceptional, and if you got involed and let your hair down then you will enjoy very much.
Only critisism about resort, loads of wasps, so if you run a mile when you see a wasp, not the resort for you. Another problem were the mozies, protect yourself, we got bit walking to the apartment on first night. shop sells excellent creams though, better than we had brought from home. Also you can use citronella candles at the bar.
The nearest beach was a bit 'seaweedy', but the bigger beach around the corner was much nicer, to be honest we didnt move from the resort much due to the all inclusive package.
Airport departure a little chaotic, but Thomas Cook Reps had it all under control - well done reps, a lot of people to facilitate as there were three british filghts leaving almost the same time.
