The Mitsis Roda beach was a fantatsic place to stay at. It was immaculate, the staff were always friendly and our room was large with direct entry into a swimming po
ol from our balcony! The hotel is set slightly out of town but has it's own beach access so this wasn't an issue for us. The range of food in the main restaurant was varied and plentiful and we never had the same meal twice by choice. The pools are salt water but we knew this prior to travelling so took goggles for the children and they soon got used
to it. The only negative is the system for booking the restaurants on the beach, but this is a reflection on the hotel itself not Thomas Cook - just be prerpared to get up early if you want to eat at any of these and get to reception just before 7am to queue! It is worth it as the view from these restaurants really is beautiful as the sunsets. Overall a great holiday for us as a family and we would enjoy re-visiting again soon!

We stayed in one of the family rooms, which were very nice only there was only 2 chairs to sit on outside on the balcony which for a family room wasn't very good. Ou
r rooms where only a stones throw away from the beach or the pool which was very good - especially with young children.
I wasn't very impressed with the main restaurant. The air condition was rarely used and most of the time had to queue up in the hot heat of the ovens/stoves to get your food. There wasn't really any different food for young children and my youngest got feed up with the same stuff every night. Most of the food was very nice but not much in the way of any local dishes.

We chose the Mitsis at Roda Beach after much research. We thought a 4* would be reliably better than the 3* locations were were considering at a similar cost.
Having
arrived at the airport (no problems outbound) at about 3am, we took the coach for the approx hour journey to the hotel, stopping off at a number of rather drab box like hotels on the way. When arriving at the hotel and coming down the long slope of a drive, I thought this looks very smart. This image improved as we drove past some of the accomodation & gardens with blue lit pools and still further at the imprerssive Reception. We were the only 3 to get off the coach and almost felt smug. We were quickly escorted to our room and were able to unpack and fall asleep by 05:30 ready to get up 2 hours later to book our beach side sun beds. Despite some negative comments on the reviews, we found the quality of food to be excellent. While the same meals were available in the main restraurant, there was sufficient choice to allow some variation meals. All the food was lovely and fresh, the restraunt staff helpful, friendly and efficient. Do not let the negative comments put you off or worry about this hotel. Of course you can choose to use the other on site restraurants.
We hired a car, as we have not been to Corfu before. If you do not wish to explore that much Roda is an easy 10 min walk and you can hire a small motor boat to explore localy.
If this is the standard of Mitsis Hotels, I would confidently book with them again.
Only negative with the room was that the Fridge was not reliable. We tried swapping sockets, making sure the door was well closed etc, but did not bother to report a fault. With drinks and food so freely available as a reslut of being all inclusive, it was not that inconvenient.

I went to Mitsis Roda Village Beach Hotel in May with my parter (27), son (4), daughter (6 months), mother (53) & father (54).
Accommodation
Mitsis Roda Beach is a
first class hotel and complex. We had 2 family rooms both sleeping 4 persons and having a glass partition and door seperating childrens sleeping area from adults. Our first room was in the main block adjacent to the reception and had a sea view. The air conditioning in this room was centrally controlled and had not yet been switched on as it was only beginning of May. We asked to be moved room as it was too warm at night for my baby daughter. We were then moved to one of the 'swim up' rooms overlooking one of the swimming pools which was of a similar layout to the first room but was larger and had inidividually controlled air con unit. Towels changed, maid service and mini fridge/bar stocked daily. Rooms were furnished to a very high standard and were immaculate.
There were 3 swimming pools opened when we were there and you could easily obtain a sun lounger at any one of them. Main pool busier and had loads for the kids, 3 slides in kids pool and a larger slide in the adult pool. Pool was freezing which was as expected in May.
Beach was split into 2 sections and again loads of sun loungers. Beach bar was great for drinks and snacks (pizza, hot dogs, pastries, tea & coffee). There were also some rowing boats/pedalos that you could take out when the life guard was about - free of charge.
Food was of a very good standard, my only disappointment was that there was no kids menu as stated on the brochure - possibly too early in the season. Found it difficult some days to feed my fussy 4 year old.
Mitsis Roda Beach is a bit out of the road. You can walk to Roda, however there are only 2 optoins. The first being across the beach which was quite rocky and we had to carry the buggy most of the way. One of the days on the return journey home the tide was in and we were wading through water at parts trying to reach hotel. The other option os via the road. It is a very steep hill, I can't emphasis enough how steep. Struggled with the buggy and there is no way you could get a wheelchair up it or anyone with mobility difficulties.
Roda itself not up to much. Small resort with not a lot there.
Transfer time - on arriving at Corfu we went across the Island and it took us just over an hour with mitsis road beach being the first drop off. On the way home it took 2.5 hours to get from Roda to the airport. This was very disappointing. We went around the coastal route and made several pickups. Very winding roads, several persons on the bus sick.
All in all a good holliday, would definitely recommend mitsis roda beach although not so sure about Roda. Possibly better in the high season.

i stayed at Roda Beach for seven nights in may with my boyfriend. we were a little worried when we arrived as the entrance was a building site!! However the coach dr
iver drove past all of the building works to the main entrance and that was the last we saw of the works. phew! The hotel was beautiful, we were welcomyed and check in very quickly, shown to our room by a porter. four different restaurants, all very good... so much choice! most of the staff were friendly and efficient. the room was spacious and clean, modern bathroom. location perfect if you want to be away from it all. wouldnt recommend if you want lots of pubs/bars close by. but for us just what we needed!

Hotel was lovely, very pretty and had great position on the beach, the pools looked great and had a slide but unfortunately we didnt use them as much as we would hav
e liked as the salt water upset my childrens excma, every single pool was salt water so there was no escaping it. Food was nice, it wasnt labled if it was vegetarian so we had to try it and see some days! It did get a bit repetetive but it was always nicely cooked. You have to get up early to book into the other restaurants, we only got into the chinese but it was lovely and the staff in there so nice. The beach itself was ideal for kids that want to explore rock pools and catch things. The walk to town up the beach was nice which was where we went to buy stuff as the hotel shop was ridicolously expensive. Entertainment was fine, think the Europeans enjoyed it more than us, overall a very nice time was had but I wouldnt go back due to the salt water pools being no good for my boys.

What a fantastic location on the beach with mountain views and the coastline of Albania in the distance. All the restaurants have lovely views, if you sit on the bal
cony of the main restaurant it's so very relaxing. We could not fault the food, there was plenty of choice in the main restaurant and the Greek, Italian and Chinesse ones down on the beach were very nice, it you like to be served at your table then try them (Itialian & Greek also open at lunchtimes) they have to be booked at reception.
The only down side of the whole holiday was the all inclusive drinks, beer was ok, nice and cold, I was not able to drink the white wine, managed the rose, all the spirits were poor and the cocktails were terrible, everything appeared to be watered down. Nice touch in the rooms though as they put beer, pop and water in there everyday.
The hotel is spotless, the grounds well kept, our room was cleaned to a very very high standard everyday. The public areas are furnish to a high standard.
The entertainment was aimed at our French & German friends, we went to one of the shows and left after 10 mins, plenty of activities during the day if you want to join in.
Roda is 10/15 mins walk away via the beach, very nice place for a few drinks and a look around the shops. We would not hesitate to go back to this hotel, if you want to chill it's the place to go.

This was our first trip to any of the Ionian islands and would have no hesitation in going back. We breezed through the airport on arrival and were quickly on our co
ach towards our hotel. We were one of the last drop offs and my girlfriend was getting a bit concerned as some of the hotels we were dropping off at didn't look too good so she was extremely pleased when we reached the Mitsis Roda Beach hotel as it put all the previous hotels in the shade in a big way.
We were soon checked into our room, the only reason it got 4 out of 5 is because there was no partition for my 6yr old boy so we were all in the same sleeping space but the room was comfortable and tidy and the cleaners did a great job.
The swimming pools were great and the water slide is a great addition for kids the beach is even better though, the hotel is on its door step and its kept lovely and clean and sandy, the sea was lovely too, crystal clear and plenty of fish close by for my little boy to try and catch. He failed to catch a fish but did manage to catch plenty of shrimp and crabs and even one day managed to chase an exoctic looking lizard down and bring it back in his fishing net.
The food at the hotel was of the best standard I have ever had on an all inclusive holiday, lots of variation and great tasting dishes and a seperate area for the kids.
All the staff were really friendly and helpful especially the kids animation and entertainment team who did a great job every evening.
The only down side was the fact I had to get up at 7am if we wanted a good spot on the beach as they got taken pretty quickly. Other than that a great hotel easy walking distance to Roda via the beach or road. I loved the island of corfu and we had some great trips around the island and across to the Greek mainland, my little boy has now made this his preferred holiday destination for next year!
