Egypt Flights

When you book a Thomas Cook holiday, you’ll fly to one of four airports depending on which Egyptian resort you’ll be staying in. The northernmost airport is Sharm El Sheikh Airport, and serves that resort and its tourist suburbs Naama Bay, Sharks Bay, Nabq Bay and Um El Sid. Transfer times from the airport will vary depending on which hotel you’re staying, but are generally around 25 minutes, although it will take around 45 minutes to transfer to Um El Sid.

Hurghada Airport serves not only Hurghada, but the group of resorts to the west of the Red Sea that includes El Gouna, Makadi Bay and Soma Bay; transfer times ranging between 20 minutes to Hurghada and 50 minutes to Makadi Bay.

There are plenty of flights to Luxor Airport if you wished to explore the Nile-based areas of Luxor, West Bank and Aswan, which includes Karnak and the Valley of the Kings. Luxor is approximately 30 minutes from Luxor Airport, and it’s a fascinating desert drive through amazing Egyptian surroundings.

The newest airport is Marsa Alam international Airport, and serves Egypt’s southernmost Red Sea resort, Marsa Alam. This is a relatively new resort that is becoming more and more popular every year, which means there’s currently a wonderful mix of modern hotels and natural beauty in this remote new resort.

When considering flights to Egypt, there’s perhaps more choice of UK departure airports than you might have thought. Sharm El Sheikh  flights, depart from Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, East Midlands, London Gatwick, Glasgow, Luton, Manchester, Newcastle, and London Stansted. If you’re looking for flights to Hurghada Airport then you could depart from Birmingham, London Gatwick, and Manchester. Alternatively fly from Birmingham, London Gatwick and Manchester if you’re holidaying in Luxor. And currently if you wish to book a holiday & flight to Marsa Alam then this is currently only served by London Gatwick & Manchester.

Flights to Egypt will take just over 5 hours depending on where in the UK you’re flying from and where in Egypt you’re flying into.
