Around & About
Visit Jumeriah Mosque – one of the finest examples of Islamic mosque architecture. It is well worth this taking one of the guided tours offered on Sunday and Thursday mornings.
Wild Wadi Water Park is set over 12 sprawling acres and has over 30 rides and slides, including one 33-metre high almost-vertical slide, artificial waves you can surf on, and much other twisting, turning water fun. A trip to this huge and well-maintained aquapark is perfect for a family holiday in Dubai.
One of the most popular tourist attractions is Dubai Creekside Park, a green paradise which lies along the west shore of Dubai Creek. The park is spread over an area of 237 acres and has an array of facilities for adults and children, including a golf course, picnic areas and games for kids. The main highlight of this beautiful lush park is a huge amphitheatre, which can accommodate up to 5,000 people.
A great day out in Dubai would include the The Shaikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding in the historic Bastakiya Quarter of Dubai. They offer guided tours of this area, plus traditional breakfasts, lunches and Arabic tea, and question-and-answer sessions afterwards. It offers great insight into Arabic food and customs.
