Activities

Dubai very much caters for children and adults alike, with its various amusement parks and gardens. Wonderland Amusement and theme park has various rides for both children and adults, in water or out, and a large swimming pool. Mushrif Park is a 1,300 acre desert-like park, located to the east of the city centre. It has a swimming pool and lots of interesting natural attractions.

Go on a desert safari by jeep to appreciate the Arabia of old. It’s not for the faint-hearted – as it is bumpy, dusty and fast. You could also choose a more sedate – but still fairly bumpy – camel ride. Shop around the travel agents for the best deals.

Or, you could do the opposite of all this thrill-seeking and get a treatment at Talise Spa, located at Madinat Jumeirah. The range of treatments is extensive, and the service and attention to detail is second to none. There are also hot tubs and saunas available on site.

Dubai Museum is a great example of how a country with no discernable history can make a museum. It includes a diorama about the rise and rise of Dubai and some ethnographical attractions and archaeological history. All this and it costs only 45p to get in.
